A GOOD START (01/12/09)

We awoke to a sunrise, no rain during the night, an excellent start to December.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      DAWN.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    Engine House at Dawn............It didn't last, by the time daylight arrived it had clouded over but was still dry. Having some mail to post we strolled down to the village. This precipitated a revelation (rare are revelations), we were not where we thought we were. The blob on yesterdays map wants moving a couple of fields to the south east.

Whilst down in Porthtrowan, the light being neither one thing nor the other, decided to give Molly a run on the beach. A bit cool for a swim so took a few snaps of boulders and sand.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the stream that flows down the valley, not named on the map so assume it's the Trowan.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA               Porthtrowan mainly bungalows of no particular distinction, cafes and a pub. The house centre has been converted from an engine house and a good conversion it is.

Some pictures of the cliffs, interesting cliffs as cliffs go.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   Molly enjoyed herself, stalking invisible prey and stopping for a chat from time to time.

We arrived back at eleven fifteen at 11h 27m 17s the heavens opened and down came the rain. (The devil looks after his own). Almost eleven and a half hours without rain this month. After a damp start, tomorrow is forecast to be better so will go and have a look at some mines.

  1. Great sunrise as is the Engine House at Dawn. Winter is the best time, I think, for beautiful sunrises.
Interesting mixture of colours in the cliffs.

  3. A great sunrise to welcome the day Adrian, and lovely clouds in there.
I do like that beach shot and the rocks.
But Molly steals the show again! She must be great company.

  5. Oh wow! Congratulations on the clear sunrise! :oD

As always, I love the Molly pictures. She looks so cute making friends on the beach and stalking imaginary critters! Those are the best ones to stalk, don't you know... they never fight back and you are always the hero in that story! ;o)

I'm glad the devil is looking out for both of you. ;o)

  6. Adrian, the photo of the bungalows looks as if the land is breaking away, unless this is just the angle you took the shot at. Reminds me of an article I read in Home Living British edition - I think it was Welsh countryside where a small village was tragically flooded out. Miss Molly is showing all her cuteness again...

  7. Keith. Nice to see one, rest of the day wasn't so good.
Trevor taken from the truck. Be good to have a 100% descent day.
Penny, If lacking content can usually rely on the dog to fill a few column inches.
TMW. No they are rocks in the foreground. Me attempting arty. The village flooded was I think Bocastle down here in Cornwall.
    Thanks one and all.
