AN EASY DAY. (01/02/13)

Yesterday I drove back to Derbyshire. A trouble free run. Cooked an evening meal and sat up chatting.

I’m weary today.

_V0G4584_5_6_tonemapped_edited-1   It rained again last night so I delayed are walk until the sun came out.

_V0G4596_edited-1   White Lodge……Chatsworth Park.

_V0G4605_edited-1 I think that this strange sculpture is a jump on the cross country course.

It’s been a cool but bright day so far.

Have a good weekend.

  1. Adrian, I'm glad you had a good journey back up the hill and arrived safely.

I'm sure you're really whacked out after all that late night 'chatting' stuff!

The rain seems to be the norm these days, still if it stopped raining what would you do with those wellies?

    Have a good weekend...(and take more rest!!)...[;o)

I hope Alf is feeling much better now.

    1. I'll try and find out what the jump is. As far as I know they still hold Three Day Eventing events here.

    1. John, I never considered the possibility of the Duke of Devonshire being a Treky.

  6. I like the trees, country style is where it's at. Lovely the sculpture.

  7. I must go round with my eyes closed (or perhaps it's the gap between my eyes and my brain that's at fault) because I can't recall seeing the white lodge nor the sculpture. The trees look vaguely familiar though!

    1. It is at the Baslow end of the estate Graham. The sculpture is also down towards the Golden Gates.
White Lodge is at the entrance to Paxton's grace and favour house and next to the old nursery garden.

    3. Graham, there is usually a big modern sculpture exhibition in September/October. It is usually called 'Beyond Limits'. A ggod time to visit.

  8. It seems to be a very soggy mess there. I guess that's what your winter is all about.

    1. Winter and summer are much the same. It froze last night so I'll see what dawn brings.

  9. The first 2 pics remind me of spring being just around the corner ... sigh, I'll have to wait till May so see that ... dreaming of mudpuddles and green patches ... soggy or not. Thanks for your visit and endearing comment about Timid Tim ... means a lot to me, since you are THE master photographer ... Love, cat.

  10. The jump is a very beautiful sculpture. Thought it had something to do with boats and water when it came up on the screen. First visited Derbyshire the summer before last and was bowled over by it.

  11. I really like the wide/large reflection images, you don't see many of them around nor people trying them. As for that sculpture I would hate to be a horse
