Overcast is good for colour and tone but f3.5 at 400mm is a touch slow with Olympus as noise is a problem at much over 600 ISO. I like to print if at all at A3 these wouldn't pass muster at that size, Also I edit much of the time at 100% it shows any lack of sharpness. The camera is 25% of the job learning to use it as a part of yourself is the bit I find hard. I switch between burst shooting on AF continuous and like this morning firing single shots, seven usable isn't bad out of twenty five. Prosumer cameras are fine but usually the images are a bit soft and lack, lack of depth of field, it's handy to isolate ones subject in camera, saves ages on the computer. You are coming on by leaps and bounds, keep with it you will hit the wall over and over again as you become more self critical.ADRIANhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07113961163396562781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060152237863452651.post-8088747312988771352010-07-20T15:54:08.755+01:002010-07-20T15:54:08.755+01:00Love the bird action shots, the one with the fish ...Love the bird action shots, the one with the fish is excellent.I have been practicing this photography myself. The new Canon camera and zoom lens has helped me no end.
Thanks for the comment you left ,much appreciated.matronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11450784165267377984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060152237863452651.post-60525868736868794472010-07-20T15:43:42.189+01:002010-07-20T15:43:42.189+01:00Krista they turned out fine for computer resolutio...Krista they turned out fine for computer resolution or printing on canvas. Your birds in flight photos terned out well! ;o)

I really like the clarity in the last shot, and the way you've framed the bird is clever. The top shot is fun because you've got a bit of everything in there; meaning bright and dark and colour and grey and action and still.

Too bad about the fish ladder. We have one here too and I always enjoy getting in for a look. Might have to get there again soon. :o)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05637557309399845617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060152237863452651.post-58750429542003453972010-07-20T12:58:34.369+01:002010-07-20T12:58:34.369+01:00I had Molly seen to so no bother there. One more grump from him and he's off to the vets as well.
The birds are just OK I now use AF(C) setting for focus aperture wide open, no choice today it was pretty dark. I suspect a monster prime lens is the real answer 600mm+ but at more than my van is worth the cost isn't justifiable. It's good just to watch them, the pics are the icing.ADRIANhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07113961163396562781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060152237863452651.post-9305986004283272010-07-20T12:20:01.392+01:002010-07-20T12:20:01.392+01:00Hi Adrian.
