We are parked up behind The countryman Inn, it’s situated in a village between Darlington and West Auckland. Nothing wrong with the pub or the area but it’s not ringing all my bells. I suspect you are either in for Macro shots( promise no pens or eggs) or nothing for a couple of days.
For your Edification and Delectation here is a chimney reflected in a muddy puddle…….As a child I can remember the expression Edification and Delectation. I always thought it delightful……..Old Time Music Hall, I think, may have been The Wheel Tappers and Shunters Club then the Muppet show came along and consigned it to history. Then Spitting Image, all brilliant. Showmanship…It’s gone and a pity…….Nice to watch a good pro, a good puppeteer, or even……. I could go on for ever…. All we get now are producers working the ratings and idiots who are whanabees. I am a showman…here is a muddy puddle.
The Countryman, if you have a really good peek you can see the truck behind the gate on the left.
Here it is with Alfie waiting for my return and a run.
Acres of grass to run in and not a smell to be left unsmelled…………………..
They are happy here and it’s only for a couple of days then back to wild country.
Hawthorn and Ash in between….. freezing showers.
Have a great weekend wherever you are and whatever you are up to.
I'm pretty sure you are correct with the Wheeltappers and Shunters. We really need a modern Spitting Image to put our pompous politicians back in the place they belong. Unfortunately it wouldn't rate high in the programmers views against the hoards of cheap 'can't sing or dance but I'm going to anyway' brigade. Ho, hum - it's my turn for the soapbox.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look too bad a place to stop Adrian.
ReplyDeletePlenty of area for the dogs to run around in, and I'm sure there's something of interest for you in the big white building.
AWWW! Molly and Alfie are so cute. I wish I could give them scratches behind the ears. :o)
ReplyDeleteIs the gate to keep you in or the others out?
ReplyDeleteLove the puddle! Not everyone can do a puddle justice.
John, I agree, there is some awful rubbish on.
ReplyDeleteKeith, it sells beer, but is an eating house primarily. The bar is not full of wit and repartee.
Krista, it's a really slow news day when I drop the dogs into a post.
Pauline thanks. I don't like to enquire about the gate.
The phrase was, I'm sure, used on Old Time Music Hall wherever else it was used too.
ReplyDeleteLove the puddle and the blurb, as usual, made me chuckle out loud. I do enjoy a good chuckle.
GB, I just couldn't remember but will go go with Old Time music Hall. Wheel tappers and Shunters was 1...2...3...Testing! The puddle is an original but selectively processed. Nowt put in but the best emphasised.
