ALL THINKS BRIGHT AND…… (19/03/12)

I’ve been away and now I’m back. I’ve not had too many laughs of late but was amused by something I read last week. Our leader Dithery Dave went to America. The Americans treated him superbly. Not well enough for me as he has come home and dreamed up another barmy scheme……this week it’s privatisation of the roads……next week who knows? I’m hoping it will be a scheme to get water to the south of the country, failing that a trip to the Falkland Islands.

Back to his trip to the States, Obama gave him an aeroplane flight, bought him a hotdog and before that provided a ‘meeter and greeter’ with the wonderful monica of Randy Baumgardner…..Unfortunately the first ‘A’ in his surname is not a typographical error.

Last week I was in Coniston.

conpan0803 Coniston Water. This is as good as the weather got.

I’ve moved to Ravenglass.

All bright as you can see.

Enjoy your week.

  2. It's a pity Dave didn't stay in America. He's more suited there.
I do like that second shot. Almost like a painting.

  6. Adrian beautiful pictures. The one of Ravenglass is superb, and would make a fine painting as would the pictures of Shogun. Thanks, have a great week.

  7. Sounds like your politicians are as creepy as ours. I like photos of old "work" boats.

  10. I fell out with Blogger big time a few hours ago because I wrote a comment and it wouldn't publish it. So I did a test and it wouldn't publish that one either. One way and another Blogger is really pissing me off at the moment.

To summarise my previous comment (there is a limit to the number of times I can indulge in being verbose) said how pleased I was to see that you were back and that I liked the boats. Of course the original had a greater level of subtle verbiage.

    1. Graham, I do all blogs through Google Chrome which, touch silicon, seems to solve the problem.

  12. Welcome back to the weary wanderer. I can't work out whether the reflection on the Ravenglass photo is real or manipulated but either way I like the composition. By the amount of still water it looks as though you have had calmer weather than here. Too many days with cold winds.

I've copied this comment just in case things go belly up. At least I can just past it back for another attempt.

    2. John, it is real. You can see a couple of rocks in the estuary. HDR does smooth the water unless one employs anti ghosting. if you click it will enlarge and look less perfect.

  13. You know my philosophy - blogging should be a pleasure not an obligation so if you feel like / need a break that's up to you. Buit a great welcome back!

Anti-ghosting? We call that exorcism or smudging!

  15. John, Thanks.
Anti-ghosting has been hijacked it now means keeping moving things still when combining multiple exposures. The secular will rule eventually.

  20. Wonderful pictures; there's so much beauty in these small islands, we shouldn't always look elsewhere. I try to get the Shropshire Hills better known.

Now we know what Dave's mate is doing: he's screwing the pensioners.

    1. Friko, I agree. when one gets bored twenty miles and the whole ambience changes.
It's not just pensioners it's the whole country. Dithery Dave is a man of limitless ambition.
