RE-PROGRAMME. (27/10/12)

Today is the first day of winter, snow…..a wee bit and cold. I was awake at three as a hail storm clattered on the truck roof. Keith was up earlier….or possibly hadn’t been to bed. I noticed he was replying to comments at 0240h. Check for yourselves. CALDECOTE LAKE. Of course the alternative is that he has a week prostate and decided to sort e-mails whilst having a tiddle…..apparently it is possible for I-Phone owners.

It was dark when I woke so I decided to pop the Arduino  temperature sensor Out of the window it just said zero. I pondered this for a while and thirty minutes and a coffee later I decided it needed reprogramming. A 500mv offset sorted it.

imageAll that work and it wasn’t that far away. I really must get a life.

I read a book for a bit…..had a bowl of porridge, another cup of coffee and started looking for winter clothes. I couldn’t find my gloves or my woolly hat. I am on the ball. The hat was in a cupboard with the spare printer cartridges………don’t ask. I don’t even know what inspired me to look there. I now need inspiration to find the gloves. I did find my big mittens…they were residing with the slow cooker! The big mittens were overkill for today.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     Just a sprinkle of wet snow.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     I didn't take a tripod it was black and horrid and damp and raw on bare hands.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   We made it to the supermarket and I tied the dogs up. Alf has a jacket as he feels the cold. The tying has to be efficient or the little devils sneak in after me. Causes one hell of a commotion.

The next bit is not for the faint of heart. GLO has been at it again………………….muddyadrian2copy     Quite where Glo found Keith or Grahams hat I’m not sure…I never wear daft hats………………

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      A self portrait from this morning and a proper hat.

Have a great weekend.

  1. That was a bit on the cold side this morning Adrian.
Yea, I woke early. Couldn't sleep, so I managed to do some catching up on blogs and things. No snow here ..... yet.
I wondered where my hat went.
A fine self portrait; and hat.
    Keep warm.

    1. Keith, my hat is what a hat should look like.
I have never worried about keeping odd hours. Years at sea have conditioned me to functioning or not at anytime.

  2. Can't believe how wet it is there.
    Nice Willie Nelson self portrait!

    1. Red, if we get a week without rain we have a drought.
Willy Nelson......that is a later post.

  3. OK then, proper hat ;) Willie Nelson came to my mind as well because of the braids or plaits. First snow, wow! Hope you find your gloves. Did you look inside the slow cooker? Raining buckets here.

  4. Glo....Much better with my hat.... easier for you too. I did see Rachael on the way back and offered to take her piccy. Far too cold and wet she said! Roll on spring.
Gloves are found....in my winter rucksack. Same as my summer one but twice the size and red. My summer one is black and half the size of the winter one.
    Thanks.

  7. Ahhh, so that's what a proper hat looks like? I can see now why I've never been admired for my fashion sense. Loved Glo's newspaper article - too funny!

    1. Pauline, I suspect Glo is taking the piss. No worries I do leave myself wide open to such abuse.

  8. I can never find things either, and the more I try to put them in a logical place the worse the finding gets. We had a bit of snow here recently too, IT'S TOO EARLY FOR SNOW! GLO is coming up with some great stuff, but I like your real hat better. Bundle up.

    1. Gillian, back to damp and dismal. I really have to get away to serious weather.....not long to go I hope!

  9. Pots v Kettles. Hmm. It's a toasty 7 deg up here in the wilds of Lewis. Glo's photo reminds me of the people who seem to crop up everywhere now painted from top to toe and striking non-moving poses. I don't know how they do it.

    1. Graham, I'm just reading a whodunnit set on Lewis. Bloody hard work, much like life up there. Lewis Man by Peter May. Doesn't sound like a Gaelic author but who can tell. Kindle it for a quid...even discounted I'm not finding it riveting.

    2. PS...The pose I didn't do it...it's only make believe.

    3. Friends have been telling me how good the Lewis Man is and I've downloaded it too but it's quite a way down my reading list at the moment.

    4. It is not awful....The writing is good. It's not a Geoffrey Archer. It deals with dementia. I'll not let you know and spoil it.

    5. Oh heck. I've had little to do with dementia in my adulthood though a lot to do with it in my childhood: fortunately not too much within the family. It is one illness - far more than cancer - that terrifies me beyond measure. This is a book I may be giving a miss. I'm not sure that I'm ready to confront this demon.

  10. Well since it was in the newspaper (I followed the link to Glo's blog) it must be true, mustn't it? ;) I hope your find your gloves, and that your boot has dried up.
