ON THE ROAD AGAIN. (10/03/14)

It’s truck cleaning and packing day. Tomorrow I’m moving. I need a big shop so Inverness first and I’ll probably break the journey westwards at Loch Ness. I’m then undecided but am thinking of going to Kilchoan on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular. This afternoon I’m going to have another stab at getting some perfect pictures of Riverman Rod.

I’ve spent the last two mornings trying to get a photograph of some very strange behaviour. The Dipper that skims the loch can also swim. It spends ages floating about like a small duck. I know they can walk on the bed of a stream but had no idea they could swim. As is my wont I failed so you will just have to take my word for it.

_V0G8301   Molly didn’t pick the cleanest of places for her paddle. Filthy little devil.

Now I must get on I’ve much to do today.

Enjoy your week.

    1. Laura, she wasn't as happy when I put her under the tap. She knew i was busy today. I have the afternoon free now as Rod has got to go to Glencoe.

  2. Adrian, don't you realise that the dog, Molly, does it for you?

  3. Put her under the tap? OMG! Poor, poor dog. I just hope it was warm water. Mine has a warm water shower when she gets filthy - still doesn't like it though.

    1. Pat, it's the outside tap so it's cold. She doesn't like it. She goes in the freezing water and the tap must be warmer than that.

    1. Maria, I very much doubt they would sit still for long enough. Alf might he likes his picture taken.

    2. I'm sure you know, but if you take a head portrait, do it after they've been groomed. I once took some dog portraits, and the Yorkie's eyebrows were too long and I lost the portrait because the eyebrow covered the whole right eye of the dog (an otherwise good portrait). It's important to see both their eyes, and you did it with this shot! I love the shot, it's so candid, and I can still see both his eyes!

    3. It's one of the best shots I've seen, she looks like a little rascal. I like to do the head portraits with dogs.

  9. Molly pięknie wyszła na zdjęciu, więc poco Ci inne okazy. Prawda, że później miałeś co robić, ale tak to jest jak się ma ukochanego pieska . Pozdrawiam.
Molly came out beautifully in the photo, so you poco other specimens. It is true that later you what to do, but this is how you have a beloved dog. Yours.

  11. Molly will take some photoshopping to get all that mud off:o)
You could towel dry the mud then brush the mud out meaning less time in the shower/under tap, there is this "magic" stuff out there in those massive animal supermarket chains that you apply to the dog let it dry then brush out, can't remember it's name but it's like dry shampoo and cuts down on soaking the dog and yourself.

    1. Douglas, I put my wellies on but still get wet. At least it didn't stink. I did get a free samlple of the dry shampoo but I think it's for dogs that are already cleanish.
