RUN OUT. (12/01/16)

Today was supposed to be cold, clear and sparkling bright but it has been raining again for a change.  I have run out of milk, tobacco and am getting very short of coffee. I’ll have to go to the shops tomorrow, I ought to have gone today but I was so wet after the morning wander I couldn’t face packing the van up for a run down to town and it was too wet to walk.
Yesterday afternoon turned out quite pleasant just before the sun dipped under the southwest horizon. I found a couple of flowers and a quick burst of very pleasing light.

That is all for today, it looks as if it will be a cheese and onion omlette for my supper. Roll on tomorrow and plenty of food and an orgy of tobacco smoke. I’ll be able to concentrate on things again.

    1. Monica, it has been very mild here. Looking out this morning I suspect everything is about to get a whole lot cooler.

    2. Douglas, ignore them, I know what you mean. It does seem to flower for most of the year on and off.

  4. If the weather guessers are right it looks like winter might happen here over the next couple of days!
    Saw lots of Periwinkle and Daffodils in flower around 'Keith's Lake' a couple of days ago.
    Hope you get your messages done before the snow arrives?...[;o)

    2. Ta Trevor, so that is how Periwinkle is spelt. I was so proud to have identified it.

  6. Some of our daffodils are in full bud and about to open, Adrian. Even the fuchsias are leafing up! It's crazy weather! If we get a really cold spell (as we should do), it's going to cause absolute chaos with plants and wildlife!

    It's great to see you show photos of the world outside again!

    I wonder if Doug is going to show photos of that flowering horse on his blog! ;-}

    I hope you get to the shop before you run out of stimulants - - Richard

    1. Richard, the forecast is for bright and sunny here. Supposed to last for days.
      I have not had any roll up stuff for a couple of days. Not to worry.

  16. Yes. Plants have been getting confused. I saw a good number of snowdrops in flower when I walked past the site of Tickhill Castle two days ago. But the coming cold snap will drive them all back into the earth. It's too early to wake up.

  17. Thank you for your comment re shadows. I had been meaning to look for a tutorial but hadn't got around to it yet. I think I had done something like this a very very long time ago, but I couldn't remember what it involved.

    1. John you don't have an email link on your blog that I found. Not to say you haven't but I didn't notice it. I really appreciate folk pointing me in the right direction and whilst I'm on the perspective clone whatsit in Photoshop is worth a look.
