SNOWFLAKE.

I have just posted a quick video showing L-System nodes in Blender. I can nearly make it work. It is much easier creating fractals this way than any of the alternatives that I have found.

If anyone is interested in pursuing this then there are a couple of links in the video description.
Have fun.

  2. It makes a realistic looking snowflake. The fractal plant growth is fascinating.

    1. John, I'll keep playing with it. Looking on the bright side it doesn't involve integrating complex numbers.

  3. Even your dulcet, well modulated tones don't make it any more understandable to me, Adrian.

    1. Graham, even the voice is modulated in Audacity. The wonder of a computer is that nothing is real.

  4. Fascinating stuff to watch, Adrian, but I'll spare my brain cell the pain of trying to understand it! Best wishes - - - Richard

    1. Richard, like so much programming it starts off understandable and then goes to gibberish when I write it. I have sorted the fern I wrote something stupid in the Axiom box. It seemed logical at the time but caused that horizontal bit to shoot out. Now to make the branches get progressively thinner. All it takes is an(!) but the bloody thing is exponentially sensitive so I'll try a log or divide node to slow it down a bit.
