A BIT OF A BENDER (07/09/10)

Three pub car parks in three days a landmark achievement even by my standards. I finished work at the Lambton Worm on Sunday and moved to the Dog Inn at Heighington then yesterday on to the Foresters Arms at Brafferton.

image   Yesterday we woke up to the last of the moon and the promise of another grand day.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHad a bite to eat whilst waiting for the sun to rise and then out for a quick wander with the dogs.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    We were observed by a lone Collared Dove. On we pottered and came across a small pond home to this Moorhen.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    Molly decided to stalk it……………………………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       Whilst Alfie realizing the futility of such behaviour watched from the bank………………………….

We got back and gave the truck a long overdue clean. It was time to move on to The Foresters Arms.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA        This is a grand pub. It is pouring with rain this morning so a short walk the only thing of note being this rather attractive but dilapidated old stable.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA                                                  That is the sum total of my news from the last couple of days. Today I’m going to the Railway Museum and hopefully will return with a memory card full of steam trains.

  1. Good old Alfie, always at it. Two pubs and onwards to the broken down house. It's wonderful.

  4. Aww, Molly is such a daring lady, wading into the adventure while the bloke stands and watches. Lovely sunrise photo and why did I think the stables looked like an old goal? Could be the same thing I guess, keeping the horses locked up.

  5. Bob I like the broken house.

Fhil, just wait a month and dawn will be at a civilised time.

Keith, the dogs always have fun, so do I for the most part.

Pauline, Molly is a wee devil. It is a very small stable so you could be right a jail.

  7. As you know I'm in France at the moment in rural Lot-et-Garonne. I went out this morning. I noted one stretch of 500 metres where I didn't see a dilapidated old stable or farm building.
