DO NOT LOOK (09/09/10)

What I really meant was purists don’t look. I thought do not look would tempt the odd waverer and those intent on a little erotic titillation. The latter will be disappointed………..I don’t run that sort of site……..can’t say I haven’t thought about it but the competition is just too fierce.

The light in the Yorkshire Dales is stunning, I’ve not seen it at it’s best but first light this morning was better than average.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  This has been treated to a bit of dodging and burning and the yellow channel shoved a touch.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  This shot of our destination today is pretty much as shot apart from RAW conversion…….to be in keeping with most of today's efforts perhaps I should have given it a good seeing to as well.

P9096507_6_5_4_3_tonemapped_edited-1 This window titled the Good Shepherd was commissioned to commemorate two thousand years of the Christian Church and installed in 1954………..just jesting…….it doesn’t say when it was made. I wasn’t happy with this so…………………….

P9096492_91_90_89_88_tonemapped gave it a real hammering…………for once I prefer the restrained version.

St Andrews Hawes is a typical example of English market town ecclesiastical architecture. Not too ornate and the better for it…………..

P9096477_6_5_4_3_tonemapped_edited-1 Wow Whee! I went to town on this one. Looks better than the real thing. I suspect it’s hard to believe but I toned this down with an unsaturated layer at about forty percent opacity.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   This is what the camera saw…………….what I saw was sort of halfway between…………wish I was a fifty percent person.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Gayle Beck again, I'm not that happy with today’s wander. I’m over the moon today, a friend imparted a dollop of good news yesterday……..I really need good news this year.

Now it’s a messing day today so first I took this……………………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   A small section of paving slab that caught my eye. Then this…………….

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  Alfie in all his glory. After ten minutes firtling about we get this………………………………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    There are those days when I shouldn’t be let out of my box.

Tomorrow we are off to Gayle Mill. I will try and be good and pure as the driven snow.

  1. The church interior is a cracker Adrian; the fiddled version I mean.
Gayle Beck again looks good, and poor Alfie. He looks like he's been set in stone.

  3. Hi Adrian! I'm happy to hear that you got some good news today. You deserve it. :o)

I love it when you go to town editing your shots, I have fun seeing what you've done. what I really like is when you post before and after shots. Sometimes I like the before better and other times vice versa but it's always interesting to see what people shoot, and then what they turn their shots into.

Alfie is such a handsome boy! it's a drag that he's now a paver but maybe he'll catch a look up some skirts. ;o) (I love blending two different photos like that; I know sometimes you think I'm off my rocker when I do those but I like 'em. LOL!)

  4. OK I'm starting to be convinced. I've now got Photoshop Elements on the Mac. All I have to do is start finding time to learn how to use it.

  6. Love the first photo of the sunlight on the hills. Yes the shepherd looks far better before processing. For me the aisle shot has been overdone. The first needed the window tweaking but the woodwork and stone looked just fine. Always a difficult subject.

  8. Keith,Glad you like them, Alfie has been stonefaced.

Bob, I like them for a change.

Krista, no skirts round here jeans and wellies only. Photoshop is fun.

GB, use the organiser and it's folders. A case of do as I say not as I do I'm afraid. On the Mac you may have to use Bridge to download. Any problems other than Mac related ones feel free to drop me an e-mail.

John, I never know when to leave well alone. Difficult is an understatement. I fancy going back on a really dull day and trying fill flash.

  10. Jolynne, far too old for porn. Messing with images is more interesting. Taking the originals all consuming.
