GEORDIE PARKER (04/08/10)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is Alfie a West Highland Terrier, Geordie Parker was one of, if not the best Greyhound of recent times, Alfie with his new slim line look could surely give him a run for his money. Alfie is now slimmer and fitter than a racing snake.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Not a Hare but the next best thing a ball. Molly with shorter legs has no chance, it’s the game that counts.

Despite enjoying a warm sunny week the summer is definitely drawing to a close.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   Autumn colours are appearing everywhere.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA There are still some beautiful flowers about. This I'm hoping is Toadflax……………………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     Is this Barberries?……………………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThese are Bull Rushes.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a massive one of these……………..

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       A Bedegaur Gall inside are lots of little wasp larvae. Amazing things and many thanks to KEITH AT HOLDINGMOMENTS for putting me straight on this one.

That is all for today, have a good weekend.

  1. Terrific action shot of Alfie enjoying his new found aerodynamic shape.
Days have been pleasantly warm, even hot but evening and morning temperatures definitely say Autumn.

  4. Great shot of Alfie at full stretch.
Toadflax it is Adrian; saw my first lot the other day. Lovely plant.
Berberis darwinii I think is the berried plant. Nice, but the leaves a bit prickly ;)

  6. Hi Adrian.

Trying to catch up with my backlog. Great images again. Autumn is definitely upon us and in a way I am glad....birds start to get easier to see and of course the crowds get thinner.

  7. I wish that I could get that new slim line look and actually run (he obviously doesn't need a new knee!). Great post as always. Now to work backwards!

  10. John, Isn't he just a bobby dazzler. I am past favourite seasons but I must admit to longing for winter storms.

Jeannette, I will try. I'm always trying!

Keith I thought Berberis but spill chucker gave me Barberries, thought it just an accent hitch. Toadflax and a clean Alf all in one day!!

Phil I looked them up and they are supposed to be an inch this was a good two inches plus so may be a few conjoined. Thanks for the ID.

Trevor good to hear from you. You OK I hope? Aye crowds are a bugger, school starts today!!!

GB, so do I but hobbling after them is as good as it gets for me, ball throwing and feeding is all they consider me good for. Perchance they are perspicacious. Hows that for taking chances with you.......the English scholar.

Jolynne, not a problem I enjoy people enjoying my mundane life. It will pick up again sometime soon I hope.

  11. Life in Egypt..A minor bollocking I know them as colonial cousins. I forgive them making Boston a big tea pot. I wouldn't be here but for them and the sacrifice they made for us. So Yanks I find a touch border line.
Thanks for the ID, you are rarely wrong.

  13. I have to smile when I see dogs enjoying life like that! I actually knew what one of your plants was but there's not much point in feeling clever at recognising bull rushes!
