I hope I've got it right this time.
My new speciality………a Pied Wagtails bum.
A quick whisper of turn around and it obeyed. Another beauty.
I’m going to go for a Wheatear. This is like a quiz but the quiz master doesn’t know the answers.
I’ve changed my mind it’s a Grey Wagtail………….only kidding. It only bobs it’s head and not it’s tail.
There are hundreds of these…………….they come and go………….bicker a lot but are wonderful.
The Starling one of my favourite birds. Keeping a beady eye on me.
That’s all for today. I’m coming back here the weekend after this. Enjoy life, look at things, even though things are confusing.
Hee hee hee. You got it.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun shots. I'm in catch up mode.. back from about ten days away from the computer.
ReplyDeleteAh! That's where all my Starlings have gone recently. Lovely and peaceful here for a while.
ReplyDeleteYour item of confusion does look like the 1st winter Wheatear photo in the Collins Complete, but what do I know about it.....
Beautiful bird photos.
ReplyDeleteMore splendid shots Adrian. You've found a great place to stay there.
ReplyDeleteFor your Wheatear I'm torn between that or a Yellow Wagtail. If you noticed a white bum when he flew away, then it's a Wheatear; but the hint of yellow under the tail end makes me think of Yellow Wagtail.
Got the Starling though lol
This birding lark is great fun innit!
Another top selection Adrian.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm inclined to go with Keith and say Yellow Wagtail.......[;o)
Bob, cheers.
ReplyDeleteHilary, thanks....a grand day I had.
John, you know more than I do. My head was ready to blow a fuse. It is always a difficult time of year.......young birds, bird moulting. It did bob it's head but not it's tail.
Horst, thank you.
Keith, I always get in a muddle. I should have some more snaps of it as there were two or three with the Pied Wagtail.
Trevor, I'll see what other pictures I've got. It is a wonderful place.
It really does look worth a visit...
ReplyDeleteAh, I see even with Windows Live Writer your blog has been infected by Blogger's new image viewer. It's especially a pain on your blog as your large versions no longer appear when you click on a photo, and it has to be said, your images deserve to be seen full size!
ReplyDeleteI did eventually figure out a way to disable this new feature/bug if you don't like the way it now works.
That Pied Wagtail's backside is well-executed!
ReplyDeleteJoLynne, I'm getting to be the base line when it comes to birds fannys. Don't use the last term in Europe!
ReplyDeleteAmusing title shot and great post. The silhouette of the barbed wire fence looks like an overgrown tennis court and net.
ReplyDeleteJay,This is a wonderful place.
