COLD AGAIN. (11/03/13)

I woke this morning to a sprinkling of snow. It brightened up a very cool walk._V0G5903_edited-1 The Promenade Ravenglass.

rav1103131 A stitched panorama of the estuary.

rav11o3132 And another even bigger one.

It is wonderful weather, a bit slippery underfoot but still bright, dry and windless. Magic.

I’m hoping the weather will stay like this for the next few days as Comet Pan Starrs is due in the evening sky from tomorrow. I’ll try for a big stacked image of it. Might even go the whole hog and pop in a few light and dark frames. Just which lens to use……I’ll pop out this evening and reconnoitre the job.

Have a good week.

    1. Peter, it will have to be an almost cloudless evening. I'll see what I can do.

Unless you can get up high then it will need to be a clear night It's about Mag 2 so like Sirius or a bit dimmer.

      STELLARIUM

I haven't checked but it may be possible to load Pan starrs as a plug in. The programme is free open source and must be set to your location.

  9. I do love the crisp bright light of the snow. That and the distorted warm light of evening are my favourites. One day I'll see snow again.

    1. This was proper snow Graham. Dry and dusty. Not the normal wet horrid stuff we get. There was not much of it.

  11. I'm not wishing for winter but I could do with a bit of cooling right now, might have to try to absorb some of your first scene. Good luck with the comet.

Thanks there were some reasonable pictures of it from New Zealand taken last week. You can't see it now.
