BLUE. (18/10/13)

wine emptyblue Today I’m really out of sorts so decided to pull myself up by my velcro, I can’t manage shoe laces so created an empty wine glass in Blender 3D and then two more. I am thrice blue. The glasses aren't even half full, they are empty.

I had a wonderful day yesterday until I read this post.   FRANCES GARROOD. I knew I would be incapable of watching the video so just chopped through it. I watched thirty seconds or thereabouts and it was more than enough. It’s all about capital punishment in the good old USA. The good old boys are laughing at the unfortunates and their fate. Disgusting it it is to kill but revolting to see the fat bastards enjoying their job.

This made my hackles rise and then made me sad. How can anyone take such pleasure in the plight of a miscreant on death row. If any of you are immoral daft sods then please don’t visit.

Any that are still interested in commenting or reading my Blog then please say I am justified in my opinion.

Ban killing malefactors. If the state murders them in cold blood then that only reinforces and justifies their crime. You have lots of barking mad religions. I must admit to laughing at most but laughing is harmless fun.  Thirty two States still kill. That is more than half your country. Get real….I won’t reply to anyone who disagrees with the above.

If I don’t receive positive affirmation from American followers You and your Blogs are banned. I’m well upset. Really pissed off. As we say round here.

  1. I don't have to worry about you banning my blog on this account. Yes capital punishment is awful. If I had my way it would have ended 45 years ago when I realized how wrong it is. However according to the last poll I saw, at least 80% of Americans support capital punishment.

You are doing better with Blender than I am. My house is still a shell.

    1. David, it is a pity there are not more Americans like you.
I am still following tutorials on blender. I will get there in the end.

    2. I don't know why the belief in capital punishment is so entrenched here. I was married for 22 years. I've since remained friends with my Ex. In all that time she never once moved one iota from her support of capital punishment. In fact the only people I know personally who don't believe in it are myself and my two sons.

    3. David, congratulations are in order. I never realised the pro camp had anything like that number of followers.

  2. I am so with you Adrian... surely to live out a life sentence is better punishment than death.

    1. Andrew, it is the dehumanising of everybody involved that is one depressing aspect of the whole sorry business.

  3. I couldn't bring myself to click on your link, not knowing what I was going to read or see ~ your appraise was enough for me Adrian. Been watching the Tudors and they sure had some creative ways to execute people ~ hung, drawn and quartered seemed a bit extreme for my liking. Burning at the stake, not to mention getting the axeman drunk before a beheading so he really botched the job. Still ~ it is not present day. Cheer up soon so you can put something in those blue glasses.

    1. Carol, the link is fine and just takes you to Frances's blog. It's the link there that I would not want to watch.
I'll come round I always do.

  5. As Dostoevsky said, 'You can judge a society by how it treats it's prisoners'. I couldn't agree with you more Adrian. There is always the usual shock at how criminals in the middle east are dealt with by way of beheading and stoning and such like, and yet some states in America is no different. The death penalty only makes those authorising and carrying it out worse than the criminal, and solves absolutely nothing. It not only has no effect on the number of crimes, but also breeds yet more hatred amongst those who endorse it. I could rant further, but find myself getting too wound up about the subject. Good and very relevent post.

    1. What our leaders and royals are thinking of when they mix with Saudis I hate to think.
You are right in all respects. I had a bad day, I couldn't get the barbarism out of my mind.

    1. Margaret, the link is fine. It takes you to Frances's Blog. She is a big anti-capital punishment campaigner but also writes books and from time to time very amusing posts.

  8. It's pure savage revenge. It's prone to injustice. It's ineffective as a deterrent. I could go on but that would be as pointless as the death penalty. I couldn't watch the video.

    1. Graham, I am lucky in that I've never had to examine the issue as I've never been part of a society that has the death penalty. Not as an adult.
I didn't watch the video, I just chopped through it.

  9. I do not like violence ADRIAN. Those who want to kill, will continue doing it. And is proven that the death penalty is not the solution.
Life imprisonment maybe with depriving them of freedom is most effective.
I can not cheer never before a death penalty, however bad the person was.
    Spectacular brightness cups!
    I'm home :))
    Have a good weekend.
    A hug.

  10. I've always seen capital punishment as a barbaric head-scratcher. It puts me in mind of the parent that wants to teach an aggressive child to stop hitting.. by smacking them while emphasizing that "we don't hit people!" It just reinforces that we do.

I'm grateful that capital punishment has been outlawed in Canada for nearly four decades and it was fourteen years prior to that when the last execution took place in 1962.

    1. Hilary, it is a terrible thing for a country to have to live with. I am glad we abolished it. The mark of an adult society.

  11. Adrian I won't/can't watch the video for the same reasons Margaret has already stated, but I agree with what you say, one of my first jobs after leaving scholl was working in a slaughter house, and one of the chaps used to take a little too much pleasure from his job, makes you wonderr about some.
On a cheerful note BBC's Click programe featured art using technology, you should try catching up with it via the i-Player/website might prove a bit inspirational too you.

I'll have a look at Click. Thanks for the link.
It may be beyond me though. I was supposed to be going Microlighting this weekend for some aerial views of york Minster and Castle Howard. The forecast was awful but it has been very pleasant up here.

  12. Adrian, the U.S. is a warrior country, starting with "The Second Amendment" which protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms, people are raised in a belief system that it's okay to kill; that it is normal. The Second Amendment has militarised the whole country; when you grow up thinking that you have a "right" to kill; it becomes the norm and the culture; unfortunately; it's the way it has become.

    2. To excuse something means the harm has already been done. It's probably best to understand it well to then, hopefully, prevent it from happening again. A difficult task for homo sapiens.

    1. Laura, I don't have a good side. It is refreshing to hear from two Americans who see the futility of revenge. We are a very abrasive society here. What upset me most was the laughing and joking amongst the warders. We also have that here, black humour helps para-medics, the police and all emergency personnel deal with horrific experiences. It should not be reported but be private between brave people doing their best to save lives. I don't have many followers from the USA. but thank you I have now retained you and Dave.
