DAWN (29/09/11)

The weather is perfect, it’s the first time this summer that I’ve had all the van windows open all night. We were out to see what the first rays of the sun produced. I think it produced a show worth getting up and out for._9297941_2_3_4_5_tonemapped_edited-1

_9297996_7997_7998_7999_8000_tonemapped_edited-1 Lime Tree Avenue. Now were I in charge of the atmosphere I would have introduced a bit more mist. I’ll go down to the lake tomorrow and see what that produces. All the above are HDR and shot full manual with cable release and a tripod.  A most enjoyable hour and a half.

Now a post of mine would not be complete without a fungus or two………………………

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is Tinder Fungus…………….A new one for me……….This is growing on a fallen Silver Birch.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThese exquisite little fungi are, I’m afraid, unidentifiable by me. I at first thought they were all a type of Bonnet Cap in various stages of development. I don’t think they are as the ones in the middle have a scaly stem. My book is wearing out. I’m just wearing.

All images will enlarge with a click.

Have a great day……………time for me to read the paper then polish up the BBQ.

  6. Ladyfi, thank you. Worth going out today.

  9. What beautiful photos, lovely compositions. What an enormous difference the light makes. First light and last light are often the best.

  10. JoLynne, It's not that early anymore. The braken I enjoyed.

Grace, The star of today is the bracken. i missed the best one of the bracken cos the sun misted the lens and I thought i'd just breathed on the view finder.........I need a Carer!

Those last wee fungi are special.......Wish i knew what they were called.

Annie, it was nothing special it's the HDR makes them what they are.

  12. Those first few are beautiful. Well worth the time and effort. I also have a good photo of those unidentifiable ones so if anyone comes up with an answer I'll be made up.

  15. Lasse, many thanks.

John, I've joined 'wildaboutbritain'.....I've yet to work out how to upload pictures for ID but am on the case. They like Bog Beacon are stunning little things. I'm in an area that has fungi to boggle my mind........it is a wee bit boggled to start with.
I'll find out what they are and e-mail.

Kevin, I believe it is.......until I found these I thought it was Scottish. There are so many fungi here. They are confusing me.

Horst, they are really tiny an inch tall. I just wish I knew what I'd seen. I saw wee beauties. Just took their picture.

  16. It's been a lovely day Adrian. A search for puffballs in the fields I usualy find them has proved fruitless.
The weather is probably to blame.. it's just been on the local news that spring flowers are blooming again...

  17. Andrew, the hottest day I have recorded, 80.9*. Excuse the star it's supposed to be a wee'0'. No field mushroom or Puff ball but I have had a shaggy ink cap and a bolette. The latter was not good so I only ate a bit.
Blame the government.........Dithery Dave can't control the weather let alone the country!!

  19. I'd love to have a walk along the Lime Tree Avenue! Lovely to awaken with the misty dawn and share it so beautifully. Enjoy your summery weather.

BTW I have had a go with spot-lighting my jellyfish if you'd care to have a look and tell me if I'm on the right track - any suggestions welcome. Thanks :)

  21. Bob, thanks....a beautiful day.

Glo, it is impressive.......a grand spot and 3 or 4 miles of it.
I've had a go at the Jellyfish and e-mailed you.
It's no good.......not enough contrast between background and fish.

Dee Bee, Glad you enjoyed them........you have a good weekend.

  22. Nice HDR work Adrian, I really like the Autumnal feel to the 'Lime Tree Avenue' image.

Now, the Fungi....The Tinder Fungus is also known as the Hoof Fungus due to its resemblance to a horses hoof...but I guess you already knew that!
As for those beautiful little brown jobs, sad that I am, I spent two hours last evening trying to come up with an ID, but to no avail!
If you know where to find them again it might a good idea to go back and see how they have developed, it'll be interesting to see, and may help with the ID....[;o)

  34. Oh yeah. The ferns against the sky are simply breathtaking. Thanks to Hilary for sending me this way.
Adrian, if you can id fungus, please visit me. I found a crazy mushroom and have no idea what it is. It's either the Gingerbread Man, or maybe Jesus.

  35. Kerry, thanks. I'm glad you like the picture. I'll have a look at your fungi but I guess. There are 20,000 in the UK alone.

  37. Some outstanding stuff here Adrian but all I can say is that it was worth getting your knees wet. That is top subject material.

  38. Jay, I often come back filthy......so does the camera. It does get abused. These are HDR. I like the lift it gives to an ordinary scene.
