HAPPY NEW YEAR. (29/12/15)

This is a little early but just in case the internet is a bit slow I'll post it now.
Have a wonderful year and let us hope for a peaceful one.

Once again it is what it is. The sky and river do move, the volcano looks more like a sparkler but there is so much to remember. One of the many things I should have done that I didn't was scale the landscape texture on the 'Z' axis. Then the computer refused to render using the GPU so I had to wait twenty hours for the blasted video to render at 150 samples. It could have done with twice as many.
It's the thought that counts and as the rain falls I'll try and do another one that looks a little more grown up.

  2. Best wishes for 2016 Adrian.
Looks good, especially with the moving sky.
Sounds like the rendering time is longer than the experimentation time, especially if you have to wait before you can check how things are looking every now and then.

    1. John, I have it set to a preview render of ten or twenty samples which if the GPU is doing the lifting is pretty much real time depending on the number of vertices and or particles being used.

    1. Glo, I never thought I would get this far with Blender. I have another one in the computer which is abut half finished. I have also started saving templates for bits of scenes so that once I work out how to do something I don't have to start from scratch.

  12. Like it Adrian especially the sky, I think you've been influenced by your surroundings. I hope you're staying dry in this awful weather.

Sorry to be so tardy with this note - have had a head full of cold for a week and suffering severe brain-fade.

I have another simulation almost ready. I suspect i know about half my way round Blender now. I musn't get disillusioned when the curve starts to become exponential.
