I have decided to have a more disciplined day, I know that macro isn’t very popular but what the hell. Todays images are all of the Green Orb Weaver, Araniella cucurbitina.
The male is at the top and the female bottom right. These spiders are about 5mm long, the male is a bit longer and the female is much rounder.
Male.
Female.
The thing she is next to that looks like a pan scourer is full of her eggs. She guards them against cameras and anything else that she perceives as a threat.
I am very happy with this image so will stop whilst I’m ahead.
Have a good weekend.
Spider family! I've never seen photos like these! Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
Marie, the last shot I am happy with.
DeleteI really like the the green orb. Such a fantastic looking spider especially up close, great images Adrian
ReplyDeleteDouglas they are common, bright but easily missed.
DeleteYour macro photography is certainly a hit with me. Your last photo with the "pan scourer" (very apt description!) is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLynda, some enjoy seeing the tiny things that we share the world with and others don't. I try to get interesting pictures but half the battle is getting anything at all.
