FLIPPING HECK (15/02/10)

Two more images for you to pick apart. Feel free to be constructive or abusive. I have broad shoulders and am still starting out so criticism is always appreciated.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    Bridge….Start image.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    The same image with foreground stretched a touch.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    The image flipped.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     Start Image of a stream.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      The same image with the foreground increased a touch and cropped.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      And flipped.

The last one to me is a much better image running right to left. In the first set it makes less difference as the rocks in the foreground balance things up. I still prefer using the rocks as a lead rather than the water.

The day is brightening up but now have another hours laundry to do. No great sweat the machine is doing it!

All the best.

  3. I always love seeing the different stages a photo goes through so these posts are particularly interesting for me! (Feel free to include PSE tips if you get ambitious and feel like typing more. LOL)

On the second image, for some reason I like it better before you flipped it. I like the light/colour changes but not the orientation as much. That said I couldn't tell you *why*, just that it is better for my eye that way. :o)

There, was that abusive enough for you? har... you're a funny guy, I like reading you!

  4. Ta Bob
Keith just killing time, truck polished washing done, got soaked waiting for the damn dog to investigate smells that could have waited for a dry day.
Penny, will may be think about doing a 'Seeing To' Once a week. The light changes are just a levels adjustment and a bit of contrast push. Get your head around the Layers pallet. awful to learn but it means you can always go back.

  5. Sorry, Adrian, I just don't get the flipping thing! It's way too complicated for me. With the stream shots I really like the second version, there seems to be a bit more depth to the colours. I guess the important thing is that playing with the pictures keeps you out of mischief!

  6. Pauline, you and fifty others myself included half the time!
From the comments it's not a theme I will be pursuing but I will probably put together a quick 'How To' once a week as there is some demand for that.
It keeps me on the straight and narrow not that there is much oportunity for debauchery here.
Come to think, there was an Owl keeper ann Owlet is probably the correct term!
