We are back at Thorpe Farm just outside Barnard Castle. It’s a little damp today. I can’t decide whether to have a colouring in day on Photoshop or clean the camper. I’ll see what the weather does later for now it is persistent and heavy rain.
The last of the light yesterday evening.
The first of the light this morning.
Coot chicks…………..there are eight of them so I suspect two separate families. They have done very well.
Have a good weekend whatever you are up to.
I always like these late or early shots as the difference in light creates a very special atmosphere that you can't recreate in a lab.
ReplyDeleteA good week-end? well, it looks as if we'll have to run between the drops...have a good one anyway Adrian. :)
Oh so so dark and moody. I always feel a sense of achievement when a mood is captured so effectively.
ReplyDeleteeerie sky...
ReplyDeleteThe coots seem to be enjoying themselves.
Dee Bee, They have had a seeing to. I'll post the originals tomorrow. Sunny but very windy here now but heavy rain for most of the day.
ReplyDeleteGraham, see I done it like this. First shot from bean bag two stops knocked off, second the same but without the bean bag and pushed to improve clarity. The rain was bouncing down. Know any good camp sites?
Norma, the Coots just swim around.....they are happy.
Lovely images Adrian the coots are so grown up.
ReplyDeleteI have a few video clips taken at Moore Nature Reserve near Warrington on Tuesday of a very young family... so cute (a post coming soon).
It appears the Coots are having a good year.
In reply to the Goldcrest/Firecrest comment I have seen both in the same woods.
A rubbish record shot of a Firecrest is in my archive 18th January but was lovely to see.
Take care.
Andrew
Andrew, Moorhens are even better than young Coots. These are a bit old.
ReplyDeleteThought you might have a shot hidden away. Like lightening are Goldcrest. Never seen a Firecrest so I assume they are quicker yet.
Where is the banana? While I was getting ready to say that it looks like pop art, it seems to have disappeared. I really liked that photo, just as I liked all the others.
ReplyDeleteOlga, it's on a post titled ELF........If I post more than once they all appear on the same screen. latest first. I could do separate screens for each post. These two Coots and Elf are linked. Pick it up in the side bar and there you will find the banana. If you happen to click on the photo it will enlarge but you will have to navigate back to COOTS. I hope all is now clear as mud.
