A NEW TOY. (20/09/12)

It was a cool start to the day but not a cloud in the sky…..wonderful. Today is dull and damp. No fun at all.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA First light.

P9193998_3999_4000_4001_4002_tonemapped_edited-1 Last light.

I spent a few hours yesterday fighting with Google. It all started when I noticed that a fellow blogger was inserting hyperlinks into his comments. Now this can be done using HTML code but it’s time consuming and a pain.  That is a rigmarole that is consigned to history thanks to Mark. If you go here COMMENT FORMATTING you can quickly and painlessly have a miniature tool bar above comment boxes. Like this………………………

image    It works fine in both Chrome and Firefox browsers. It wouldn’t load in Chrome until Mark sorted the job for me. That is Google making life awkward. Little tinkers.

Have a go with it. It can do no harm and is a small enhancement to the blogging experience. It doesn’t magnify the comments box…..I did that on the screen grab.

Have fun and thanks again Mark. All my images enlarge with a click, that is also down to Mark.

Any problems then just ask…..it seems fool proof but we’ve all heard that before.

    1. It should work fine. Just follow Mark's instructions. I've not tried it in anything but Chrome and Firefox. Any problems let me know or get in touch with Mark...he's very patient....needs to be with me.

  6. Like the shots, I thought you had gotten a new camera at first, but then realized that you had spent all day on the comment box project,. It would take me longer I am sure, sounds like something to try on a rainy day. Thanks Adrian, cheers.

    1. It should take less than five minutes now. Google were not allowing access....they are sorted if you just follow the links. You don't have to copy and paste code.

  7. All the new looks and "improvements" to blogger have been an issue for me over the last several weeks. The writing part especially likes to freeze up on me thus making it difficult to post and edit work:(

    1. Chris, I compose in Live Writer. It did throw a hissy fit a month ago but is back to normal now. I can compose and edit off line which is a real bonus for me.

  8. I'll be loading that to save all the copying and pasting however I use Safari and I bet Apple have kiboshed any messing with it.

  9. Go to Marks words and music Try Tampermonkey. You can tell if it's loaded as you will get an oblong box with two holes in it on the top right and side of your browser.
If that fails you know who to ask.

    1. I've got it up and running on Chrome and Firefox but I need GreaseKit for Safari and I've not yet been able to get it it sorted: it's old and the Apple OS is new and the folders appear to have changed. I tried for about an hour and have put it on the back burner for the moment.

    2. I had a few frustrating hours getting it to load on Chrome. It's worth having but probably not worth swapping a favourite browser for.
