FLAT CALM. (03/05/14)

It’s another great day. It was cool and cloudy first thing but now it is perfect. I’m sitting here with the doors and windows open._MG_7359 _MG_7362

I came back in from our walk and found this on my computer.

image After yesterdays tribulations I read it as ‘Your performance is poor’ and wondered whoever it is that thinks to clutter my computer with such rubbish knew.

Enjoy what remains of the long weekend.

  2. Lovely scenery there Adrian.

I sometimes see a message like that at the bottom of a YouTube video when it is playing. Tells me my machine is slow when in fact it is using less than 5% of processor time to show the video. Typical scam to try to sell useless, unneeded software. If I had my way all scammers would be permanently prevented from being able to breed.

    1. It was grand this morning John.
They are a minor irritation on a free service. Castration is a good idea though.

  4. It was startling! I usually have my computer speaker on mute but today it isn't - and suddenly the creepy voice daleked 'This is what you want' at me. Your blog is a never ending surprise. Is there usually music but I didn't realise?

    1. Lucy, it wasn't me. I noticed it yesterday but it seems to have gone today. It frightened me as well.

    2. You mean every so often a voice comes out of your blog without you knowing where it's coming from? Aaaaaaagh!

    3. Lucy, I know where it came from, it came from the speakers built into my monitor. I'm not daft. It hasn't done it today.....I am missing it.

  5. That looks VERY calm Adrian. Are you sure that isn't a virus?

    1. Carol, there wasn't a breath of wind.
I haven't checked but if there is it should get found tomorrow. I scan once a week.
The computer say she is fine.

  6. I was out in the nature yesterday as well. Took over 250 shots for a new series. Love these nature shots of yours. And don't click on those advertisements. But I guess you know that already. :)

    1. Mersad, thanks. I will stop here another week. It never looks the same two days running.
I ignore spammers. They would do more harm than good.

    2. I do that too. Return to the same scenery during a different time. It's quite astonishing how it can change in a brief period of time.

    3. Mersad, I don't always do it but if I find a good scene I sit and wait. On the right day it turns out lovely. Today it was normal.

    1. Trevor, I think I'll go shopping tomorrow and stay a bit longer. The bridge was a temporary solution donkeys years ago as the bridge in the last picture is falling down.
I still have to find the Otters. I suspect a moonlit night and one of those million candle power lamps is what is required.

    1. Pauline, it's a bit busy this weekend. It is a good place to be. Was that tea in your sisters mug? I recognise the posture but have never seen tea responsible for it.

    1. Bob, I like it here so will stay a little longer.

I have had trouble with I.S. It can happen if I leave it switched on when triod mounted as although most lenses know when to use it they get confused on dull days or if there are leaves blowing in wind. Wait for a sunny day or stick a bit of newspaper up and shoot it indoors at various settings. It is easy to see any problems. You can also download proper lens test patterns but I find them confusing. Good luck.
