I’ve arrived in Ullapool and am sitting here basking in rain.
I’m here for a couple of days and will try for some photographs tomorrow.
I see the Isle of Lewis is still sailing backwards and forwards to Stornoway. I thought they were getting a new ferry this June. Yet another job chasing delivery of the new ferry. I’ve one or two jobs here. I could do with a couple of meters of suction hose but haven’t found a chandlers yet. I assume there must be one as there are quite a few fishing vessels and private yachts both based here and calling on passage. I do like the butcher so will have to pop an order in tomorrow for some vacuum packed and frozen meat. I may even do a tourist trip out to the Summer Isles.
I’m then heading north up the coast to Clachtoll. I’ve never been and if it’s nice I shall stop a week or so. I’m meeting a folk band there but I’m not sure when. It’s sometime in June. It is then the twisty narrow roads to Durness for the Mackay Gathering. I think that is around the middle of July. I have both a paper diary and I use the Google one a bit; unfortunately I forget to write important things in either when folk tell me. By the time I remember the diary I’ve forgotten what they told me.
Red asked for the answer to yesterdays puzzle. I remembered he asked. It is just a repeating pattern. I only wanted this filter when I found out that CS6 no longer offered support for the Mathmap Droste filter. This is a stand alone programme and is available here: SOURCE FORGE. It is free so it can’t get cheaper, it’s easy to use but does lack control. It’s fine and it’s rude to look a gift horse in the mouth.
That’s all for today, have fun.
These picture are making my brain hurt.
ReplyDeleteFrances, I don't like the pictures either. What I love are the algorithms and the way folk can write in Python or in this case C++. and let me do something. It doesn't really matter what the something is.
DeleteThey make my brain hurt. I do them.
Excellent photos, bad rain.
ReplyDeleteBob the rain has stopped now. The midges are out but not biting. Life is good.
Deleteit looks as an abstract paint... :-)
ReplyDeleteLaura, boys love playtime. It is very silly.
ReplyDeleteThe ferry is due in August or September now. There was a storm. Took the roof off the boatyard in Germany and played havoc a good few months ago. The rain's stopped here too. After two glorious days we had to have a reminder that this is a Scottish summer.
ReplyDeleteGraham, you have saved me a job. I'm glad you are on top of the new ferry business.
DeleteSummer is back here as well.
Now suction hose and chandler's. I know what each one is but I don't get the connection. Thanks for the puzzle answer and I noticed you sneaked in the memory thing!
ReplyDeleteI will be following your travels on the map as I'm not familiar with the area at all. I looked up Stornoway the other day.
Red, chandlers sell suction hose.
DeleteNow I'm going to have to look up chandler. they must sell more than bloody hose!
DeleteThey sell everything for boats.
DeleteI think these look so original
ReplyDeleteMaria, I will have another go. They pass an hour on a wet day.
DeleteThe information I have is conflicting on MV Loch Seaforth. Delivery is meant to be in June wit operations commencing in late July. Calmac state late summer. It seems that there are going to be sea trials foist on delivery. Never been on MV Isle of Lewis but MV Loch Seaforth may be more of a possibility.
ReplyDeletesorry typo ... first, not foist
DeleteJay, it is delayed. I don't think it leaves Germany for a couple of months.
