NOT TO PLAN. (12/07/16)

I was hoping for a sunny day but it never materialised. I have spent most it fabricating a differential housing out of sheet aluminium and plastic metal. It’s not pretty but hopefully it will hide all the innards and hold oil. A rock went through the old one last night so something had to be done.

I found a few insects on our first walk but only got one shot I was happy with. This is a Macro Moth. I am going to suggest a Swift Moth Hepialus sp. What ever it is it’s a little beauty but it fell off it’s perch as I twisted the grass stem to get a better view and I couldn’t find it again._V0G0118

I did find a couple of Grass Bugs but still haven’t got a face on shot.

I did get a snap of a don’t know moth. This is really tiny.

I’ll see if I can find another one tomorrow and get a better shot.

That’s all for today.

  1. The swift moth looks like it's wearing a cloak. Great photos, as usual.
