WEB. (07/07/16)

I don’t expect anything momentous has happened today but I do know it is very damp out. I found two spiders on the same web and they insisted on running around so I soon lost all patience with them. I thought they were male and female Garden Spiders but now have my doubts. I have had a good look but will have another search. What I have never noticed before is the iridescence in the web filaments, you will have to look at 100% to see it but I found it worth a look.

I was messing about for quarter of an hour and these were the only shots I managed, no top view and no head on view. Not to worry There are a few more spiders about now though nothing like the numbers there were last year.

On the way back for breakfast I found this White tailed Bumblebee investigating White Clover. It was a little bit more accommodating.

I have vague plans to wander up to the old reservoir tomorrow it is all dried out and overgrown now but there were some damsel flies there last year so it may be worth a look.
