CRACKING UP. (06/07/14)

These were taken yesterday. Today I’m setting off back west towards Durness. The weather looks reasonably settled so hopefully once I get past Bettyhill there will be a landscape or two._MG_2739 Dunnet Bay shot ‘Un peu contre jour.’

Yesterday morning I woke with what I thought was a good idea.

_MG_2725

_MG_2724    This didn’t work out quite as well as I hoped. These are not Photoshop. The system has possibilities.

_MG_2728      They are shot into a shattered mirror. I’ve been here too long.

Time to move on, I want to watch the Grand Prix so I’m going for a shower and then it’s walk the dogs and pack the van.

Have a great week.

  1. I like the beach shot.

But I'd get the mirror fixed once you've had a play.

    1. Keith, I'll bin it when I've finished but I was thinking of trying a sunset fin it first.
It's a grand beach. The dogs think so, I have to watch them closely they are buggers for rolling in anything dead they find.

  2. HI Adrian I love the beach scene with your 2 dogs. Yes I think all dogs like to roll in smelly tings! I like the last shot very much. Have a great weekend.

    1. Margaret, it is ideal for the dogs. I'll do my best but an eighty mile drive is not the best way to spend a Sunday.

  4. The beach scene for me, too. The other stuf is a bit too sci fi for me!

  5. The first shattered image was reasonable but the third worked well.

    1. John, this was the cheap back coated mirror. I tank taped the back then gave it a good clout. Next time I'm near B&Q I'll get another plus a glass cutter and then bed the less random shards into putty. I hope there is a future in mirrors for photography but I haven't seen anything yet to beat the snail.

  6. The first two shattered glass photos reminded me of a fire. I thought,"Oh, oh Adrian is taking a photo of a fire!" You had me fooled until you explained things.

  7. Like the first image. On the cracked mirror/glass on the first I thought at first them gulls from the previous campsite had caught up with you:-)
I do like the last image too.

  8. I really am so jealous of the time you have to just wander around the UK Adrian... the north of Scotland is such a wonderful place to visit.

    1. Andrew, it is a good life if you don't weaken.

  9. I think the one with the ears of grass is pretty good. I once witnessed someone pointing his camera through the bottom of a beer mug (the type with a handle), at the Square and Compass pub. After trying it myself, the effects were quite weird. Have a good week.

    1. Gary, I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm still a little concerned as I wasn't pissed.

  13. Five years ago, I wasn't a great fan of photographing clouds, these days I see it as an enhancement to what could be a great or ordinary scene. Maybe in another five years I might be taking pictures in broken glass ... always at the forefront Adrian and me always months and years behind :-)

    1. Jay, landscapes need clouds.
The broken mirror has possibilities not sure what they are though.
