SPINNING. (09/07/14)

Does anyone know how to paste this into my blog header.headeranim2      I got bored with the old header so did this twenty frame Giff popped it on Photobucket, copied the HTML code, pasted it into the header layout and bugger all happens. My head is spinning. It may be too big but it’s only six hundred and odd KB. It only does it once so press F5 or click it to see it do it again.

I’ll go and have a siesta and hopefully wake up aware of where I went wrong. Try and help a Muppet.

It’s okay it does it now. Settle down and stop panicking.

I’ll make it a bit longer this evening and put it on continuous. I may even do a posher one. I wish I’d saved it as a Photoshop file I’ll have to start from the start all over again. 120 layers what with the text and fxs I’m still a Muppet, nothing basically changes. What a pain.

Blogger now supports GIFF headers. Just save your file to the desktop and pop it into your header bit in Layout. Wish they had told me. Maybe not I like finding things out by serendipity. Like they now sharpen images for me. So kind but I’d be happier with my lack of competence.

All the best.

  1. You are talking to yourself and answering back now ~ they say that is the first sign of madness. New heading is very striking. Well done!

    1. Carol, I kept thinking of what I'd done wrong and trying again. I ought to have a test blog for such nonsense. It was foggy first thing so I decided to have a playtime. It has been one of the best days of the year....typical.

  2. Photography is such a relaxing hobby as your blog often testifies. I like the new header but would have preferred capital letters for "Adrian" and "Images" according to ancient grammatical convention. It's one of my bugbears - sorry - it's your blog you can do what you want apart from posting explicit pictures of naked German bikers or should that be german?

    1. YP, this isn't prose but artwork. Upper case unbalances it unless I use all upper case. That looks nasty to me. Next time it rains I'll do three or four and let folk choose.
I'll do you one if you send the copy and a photo. They can't be too complicated or they will take ages to load.

  4. Fixating on the header. That's why I don't change mine often. Trying to find one that doesn't create havoc on the width band is a real challenge. Love the image.

    1. Chris if you are talking file size then keep them around 750KB. If you are talking physical size then your header is 900px x 609px.

  5. It's a really great image for your header. I didn't know blogger supports gifs. I know it does support translucent png images, which my header is.

    1. Mersad, I only found out by accident. I will check as it could have decided to upload it from Photobucket. My internet was very slow this morning so that could have caused some of the problem.

    1. Douglas, no worries it works now. I may do another that fades in and out twice. This is a bit quick.

  8. Apparently, you got that sorted. Thanks for your comment re monitors. I am back to my 21" LG, and it feels okay for some reason although may not be done with the issue.

    1. AC, Yes I suspect that the internet was to blame. It can be very slow here. It suddenly started working on it's own. I see you have done one.

    1. Red, it works now. The writing fades in when the blog first opens.
It is easy to change your header. Yours is a bit narrow for my liking.
Your image is 600px x423px. You could go to 743px wide if you don't want any padding. 10px of border each side I prefer which would allow you to have an image 723px wide.
I can send you an e-mail if you would like to have a go. Once you have the new header then it is a matter of minutes to pop it in to your layout.

    1. Horst, it is fine but wants a bit more work. I like to change a couple of times a year.
I've shot a few high key images lately. The rocks work well but nothing much else does.
