TO THE STARS. (21/07.14)

We're doing fine here but I am a bit upset. The dippy snappergorgeous with the crap Canon camera and the wonderful bum has been taken home to Gosforth by Mr Misery Guts. Daft lass gave me her card and mobile number. She would kill me. No chance I’d dare risk it. Is she on the game? I’m definitely not paying for yet another failure. Odd lass.  She must just see an old man that can take pictures in the dark and I just see a shape and smell something which has sod all to do with changing a lens. I realise my life is lacking something nice smelly.

She did say this morning that it was ages since she’d had such fun on a beach. I was happy to be of assistance. I did wonder whether she’d actually tried it on a beach. Perhaps I should be more forthcoming.

Gone now she is…No regrets…I have memories though.

Today, I hardly dare admit it but I’ve been lock picking. I got into somebody else's camper. I never lock things up but a lady knocked on my door and said.

”Our camper door has slammed shut in the wind and we can’t get in.”

I couldn’t open Rosie’s new posh Cooper SSRRII Mini the other day but a year ago I got into her Golf in seconds. Her door had slammed shut whilst she was cruising the site looking for folk that hadn’t paid, It’s just a knack I have. Rosie has a spare set of keys now. In her pocket: wherever her pocket is….A big girl is Rosie, be fun hunting the pocket she lost them in. The camper was no bother, less than a half minute. Mine is never locked. Just not worth locking anything with barrel locks ; any half wit can do them.

I’ve been busy today. I had a load of time-lapse to edit. It is wonderful stuff but I am really struggling to make it work. I must be the worlds worst video editor.

Whilst the video was chundering and champing through it’s business. I got on with my tea._V0G7630   Half roast peppers, potato shredded, Parsnip shredded. Pork shredded and a couple of flowers a few chopped jalapenos. The one on the left is Zig-Zag Clover and the one to the right is  Hawks Beard. All on a plate……The pork is sausage sans skin. I cheated a bit.

I thought I’d pop the flowers on cos LAURA does. I wouldn’t eat them. Not sure she does but she is an artist. I wouldn’t mind her popping up here and finding out.

Makes my tea look silly I’ll never be an artist. I do love her posts. I just look a bit gay putting flowers with my tea. ….Who cares.

Ages of video editing today and yesterday. Photography, as I am fast learning is not about instant gratification. The medium is instant but I really find video hard to edit.

We will go and take lots of pictures of Rock Doves tomorrow. I bet they look like pigeons.

Have fun.

    1. The flower heads are there because Laura always has flowers or petals. I'm trying to curry favour with an Italian/German/ Austrian fit bit of totty; not half bad with a camera when she gets her arse in gear. She is a veggie so her posts are well worth a look for strange folk like you. Her cheese baskets are brilliant. I've done them and they work fine.

  2. Never, never do it on the beach, Adrian, however tempted you may be. All that sand. Use your imagination.

Glorious still sea. I long for the sea with a physical ache (crusing on it doesn't count).

    1. Frances, the words of wisdom from experience.
I am normal. Men never think of the consequences. We are not in there long enough for it to be a consideration. It's all about shape and smell.
The sea here has been boring and midgey. No midges whilst swimming but the water is like ice. It's well worth a wander up if you own a six to ten millimetre wet suit.
I pop my 3mm one on and tiddle in it. Perhaps more info than you needed to know but it does save shock.

  3. -))) uhmmmm I want a stuffed pepper of yours! I can smell the fragrance of them! Well the flowers better you don't eat them if you don't know if they are edible! There are a lot of edible flowers but I dont't know the flowers in your pic. I use flower the most time to decorate my plates -)))

    1. Laura, how many times do I have to ask you.
Pick up your brushes and paints and head north. Bring the dog. Miles of sand and sea to play in but bring a thick coat. It can get cool.
I know not to eat plants I don' know. I was just taking the piss a bit.

  4. You've had fair number of things to cause you some excitement! What a cook! Pretty fancy stuff.

    1. Red, sorry for the delay the internet has been a pain. I think it is due to the high temperatures.
I have always liked cooking. It's relaxing putting things together whilst having a drink.
I used to love doing it commercially as well but I'm too slow now.

  5. It's best that you just stuck with the wishful thinking Adrian, you could have gotten into all sorts of trouble else!

I hope those peppers (despite all the tarting up!) were as tasty as they looked?

Cracking time lapse video, looks like you've got the drop on that now? Just one little observation though...maybe it would be better to fade out the soundtrack instead of the sudden cut off?...[;o)

    1. Trevor, she was only interested in photography. I had trouble changing a lens in her presence. I suspect she thought I had Parkinson's.
      Food was good.
The time lapse could be much better.
I got idle and dropped all the tracks into one time line. It makes it impossible to key frame accurately. I bollucks up with the audio. I wanted it to fade and it does but i was listening for it to finish on "To The Stars." I forgot to shift the fade back as well. It could take weeks to edit this stuff. Daft as it sounds another monitor wouldn't go amiss. I run out of screen space and spend half my life scrolling up and down.

  6. Never try it on the beach Adrian. As Frances says sand and sex don't mix. Actually that's not strictly correct. They do. And that's the problem. It's an abrasive experience.

I can't watch your video tonight. Speedtest says the internet download speed is zero. I don't actually think it's quite that fast.

    1. Graham, it is my best effort yet but far from the polished fillum my time ought to have produced. I just get fed up with it. I think I have a very complicated work flow sorted then miss one tiny bit and have to start again.
Frances. Believe the Expert.....If you had got on top it solves all the problems unless there is a stiff breeze.

  7. "don't do it on the beach" what's wrong with you lot lol. Just do it on the tide line, preferably with tide going out no horrible dry sand to worry about :-)
    The video was good too

    1. Douglas the video is middling. I leave too much in.
I just got on with the lass. Young enough to be my daughter and she acted like one. She carried the tripod which weighs bugger all and I carried two cameras and a bag full of gear.

    1. Pauline, Fifteen years ago I would have but her husband was a big bloke. I am older wiser and less capable in that department. It just didn't seem worth a lot of bother with him for endless bother with her.
      Sometimes it's better to dream.

  9. Nicely done Adrian! The editing is a pain in the arse but it lasts a long time. So much time for a 2 or 3 minute segment, but you have an amazing bit of landscape there. I really like the clouds over the mountains. And those stuffed peppers look great!

  13. You certainly have an interesting life on the road dealing with all these people.

Wondering if you had been watching Masterchef ... inspired to put flowers on a plate !!

Nice video .. like the direction of the clouds in the early part, makes it work better.

I enjoy time lapse. I try to do one every week or so.
