PORTH RUFFYDD......A grey start to our stay here. Went for a paper first thing, came back breakfasted and did the crossword or almost, annoying when one only needs the one clue. 'Course for which one must bring in black dishes (9).'............S _ L _ A _ U _ S.
Really didn't want to go out rain, cold, windy not nice at all.
Set off for a couple of miles looping round the coast path and after half an hour the rain had stopped and though not sunny the world was considerably brighter.
A great piece of coast but difficult to get down to the sea or all too easy depending on ones state of mind or state of boots!
This is a possible access point but getting out would be the problem, there's thirty feet of near vertical rock grass and muck, a rope would help.
Same place as the lead picture Porth Ruffydd. Not HDR but multiple selections from the same image. The OS map has a boathouse marked here and it's rather odd, it hasn't fallen down but been demolished and the area roughly landscaped. Concrete steps lead down to this pebble beach and again are in good condition. A mystery waiting to be solved.
Again looks like an access point but this is one big drop. the sun came out briefly.
SOUTH STACK......Had to put a twinkle on the light.
BRAVO...... A Puma I believe though am willing to stand corrected. Training air/sea rescue crews and based at RAF Valley. Flitted about above our heads for half an hour, my own private air show.
Then just to complete the display sent one of their number down for a wash or maybe a fish.
Very few birds about, the odd gull, a crow or two, not what I was expecting at all. Wrong time of the year I suspect. Saturdays forecast is looking decidedly grim but they have been wrong before.
Never done this before but I really admire the images HERE. Have a look see what you think.
Quite an assortment of interesting pictures. I saw one place there which reminded me of the term Slippery Slope. It looks like one slip on that wet grass might have been your last step as it was a long way down to the jagged and rounded rocks. It would scare the devil out of me to land up there.
ReplyDeleteYes most of this coast concentrates the mind wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteNo good at crosswords, can't help there.
ReplyDeleteBut the second pebble shot is a cracker Adrian. Really like that. I keep expecting a tall ship to appear on the horizon.
I'm sure the birds will come once the wind has died down a bit mate.
Beautiful - I particularly loved the two with the rocks and the bay at Porth Ruffydd. Great set!
ReplyDeleteThat black and white one, the first one in the post - left me breathless. Such beauty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen, will go back there and set up properly. get some real sharpness and depth of field.
