Everything has turned beautifully green as you can see from the above thumbnail.
Most things have turned green, this laurel seems to have missed the boat. The blooms are great but they don't attract many insects.
My enthusiasm and ineptitude for bugging is showing no sign of diminishing. I found this little cracker this morning.
It's a female Soldier Beetle; Cantharis fusca. She, if a she she be, was a really good model but didn't like to show her face. I have popped her in a tub with some leaves she likes eating and will have another session as and when I get this damn post posted.
This little whatever was a real pain. It is standing on the pot lid and then the bit of card I use for moving them about. It spent ten minutes dashing about but didn't mind it's face being captured. It isn't very big but it has distinctive markings. I can't identify it or even get close but I'll have another go later. Had another go and she is a female Sawfly. Pachyprotasis rapae.

Have a great weekend.
Sorry about that, I've just deleted a batch of comments and replies. I hit the wrong button. I have also enabled moderation as that bloody Sophia and her mate Ada are spamming old posts as well now. It's not been a good week on blogger.
You do have bad luck Adriaan but believe me there are better times
ReplyDeleteBas, I just wasn't thinking straight. Next week will be good.
DeleteHope you get it sorted out.
ReplyDeleteBill, nothing that a day won't cure.
DeleteSadly this pair of spammers are gaining popularity everyone I know is being hit by them, don't visit their site it misdirects you to some dodgy rubbish.
ReplyDeleteStill like the creature from the Killer B-movie in picture number 6.
Douglas, sorry about your previous comment. It is years since I have had a spam problem and having dumped this lot into it for a week they still get past the filter and many others don't.
Deletehave a drop of Bells....that will make you feel better, have a good weekend.
ReplyDeletepeter
Peter, I have stopped drinking Bells. I'll have a cup of coffee.
DeletePerhaps my approach is just too simple but I have no problem with using Blogger apart from the fact that I have to be on line to do so. Impressed with the Sawfly. I had no idea they looked like that.
ReplyDeleteGraham, I'll get used to it. It is just a retrograde step. The only thing I'll have to look up is ASCII code for the degree sign. switch to HTML switch back. It is a minor annoyance. Not all sawflies do. This is a pretty one.
DeleteYou seem quite agitated today Adrian. You need to chill out. Smoking a big, fat reefer should do the trick. The smoke will subdue your growing army of insects too.
ReplyDeleteYP, no not really, more cross with myself for being a Muppet. A spliff would go down a treat. The problem with cannabis is that it helps the creative spirit but takes away the ability to execute it. It also tastes nasty.
DeleteSpoken like an expert in the field!
DeleteNo an ex-enthusiastic amateur.
DeleteAs I'm at the very low end of knowledge and understanding in the computer world I don't face any problems. However, I do understand if someone wants to do higher end stuff, blogger can be a pain.
ReplyDeleteRed, it's being middle of the ability level that causes problems. Were I fluent in Java, HTML, ASCII then there would be no problems at all. I spent an hour yesterday messing with mouse roll over features. .....No they didn't work. It is interesting.
DeleteThat last whatever sure does have impressive eyes. Looks rather Martian-like.
ReplyDeletePauline she is beautiful. only about 1/2" long. I was very lucky to notice her. It looks as if it will be a beautiful day here. So maybe I'll get some butterflies.
DeleteGreat looking macro shots - computer issues are the result of demonic possession I believe! The only way to rid yourself of such demons is to take lots more pictures!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Stewart, I'm fine this morning and would be brilliant if WLW was working.
DeleteThe first shot of the last bug is a cracker Adrian.
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason for using Live Writer and not posting via the blogger dashboard?
Keith, I have never seen such a good looking sawfly.
DeleteThree reasons for me.
I can compose the post offline.
I can drag and drop images in and resize them with corner handles.
I am composing in my actual blog template so what I see is what will publish.
Many other small benefits and no deficits.
WLW takes longer to upload but that is because it's storing pictures with Google Images or somewhere.
Bonita primavera!!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Laura, excellente.
