RUNSWICK OR RIO (06/08/09)

P8066903_2_1_edited-1

RUNSWICK BAY......Came here expecting gold and discovered Iron Pyrites. Will return at low water and see if that makes a difference. I arrived about half an hour before dawn and might as well have stayed in bed. The sun was almost an hour into it's traverse of the heavens before it deigned to show a weak glimmer or two.

A few centuries ago Runswick fell into the North Sea and was about to repeat this vanishing trick when the powers that be decided to save it with a multi million pound sea defence scheme. Above is the result of their endeavours. The way I was feeling they would have been well advised to have saved their money. Our money in all probability!

Despite a real struggle there are a few images to post and the walk back was a delight so all was not lost.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA SEA AND SKY.......no filters just polarizer and a touch of levels adjustment.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA KETTLENESS VILLAGE.....it is in silhouette about centre horizon.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA THE VILLAGE...... Ninety percent holiday homes, no roads, just paths between the cottages. Twee, pretty, pretty as in chocolate box but all a little girlie for me...no scrap or wriggly tin to be found!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA RUNSWICK BAY......view from the Cleveland Way looking SE. Three stitch hand held panorama.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA LINGROW CLIFFS......great walk home........ Look what we found, very friendly and fascinated by Molly. She was not so keen, the Scots are like that, wary of foreigners.

Water Buffalo in Derbyshire and now Llama or maybe Alpacas in Yorkshire. Must give the hard stuff a rest!
