FEROCIOUS WEATHER (07/12/09)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      PADSTOW.........This is the inner harbour, water levels maintained by lock gates which are only opened a couple of hours either side of high water. There is an outer harbour but engineering works precluded access and hence pictures, it's not much to look at anyway!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    Nobody around the fishing boats......Not surprised, they have had a month for maintenance!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    The Pier Heads looking up the river Camel, though there is plenty of sand at low water I suspect there is no connection with the humped, spitting beasts of Africa.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     A Bollard....The village in the background is Rock....Playground in summer to the privileged offspring of our wealthier citizens or should that be subjects. I'm never sure these days.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Alms Houses, smothered in telephone cables, I've missed a bit, again. Probably basic inside originally. No doubt luxury flats today. Attractive from here though.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFrom the door halfway up I am assuming this is an old merchants home. Liked the building so took it's picture. Dislike the railings but if I'd paid a million or so for it I think I'd want something to keep the peasantry at bay.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       One of several pubs, we gave it a miss today, both Molly and I were very wet. So decided the bus home was favourite.

We will see what tomorrow brings, I fancy a walk up the river from here and another look around so may stop an extra day or two............Not bad writing for a Goat!

  4. Ta Trevor, I'm a touch on the slow side. A&T Birding. A bit brighter and considerably more observant and the address would have given me a clue. Cheers.
The nice weather was patchy, can't recall being so cold and wet.

  5. It's always good to read your pithy comments.

Given the last comment you made about being cold and wet I'll not be callous enough to mention that we are forecast to have 29 deg and full sun today.

  6. Should be about the same here Fahrenheit! Did they mention the thunder storms these temperatures are likely to produce.
