FAIRED BETTER THAN SOME (23/11/09)

We are now just outside Falmouth, had little sleep for the past few nights  with rain driven by gale force winds. Still I shouldn't complain after hearing what many have suffered. We got out briefly Saturday morning before being driven back to the truck.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA             ST. KEVERNE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA           AND AGAIN...............

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA AND AGAIN.....I like this place but being parked on top of a hill was beginning to get a little wearing in almost constant rain and wind.

Printed a load of pictures, and converted these, I was going to save them but decided to post now thereby forcing me out into Falmouth tomorrow.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    WHITESANDS BEACH SENNEN

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   MOUSEHOLE WAVE.......The first is just a high contrast mono conversion, the second is a little more deceitful as I have swapped the sky, not too successfully but it was hellish boring in the original.

Look after yourselves, all the best.

  1. I particularly love the last two shots. It would be interesting to see the 'boring' original, compared to the jazzed up one.. Oh, and the whitesands beach looks haunting.

  2. TMW, I'll post some before and afters, nothing much else to do in this current weather.

  3. An uncle of mine used to always say, "Keep your powder dry" in bad weather. Sounds like an apt thing to say to you right now. I like the whitesands beach!

  4. You could always remove the cars from St Keverne if you get really bored... Hope the weather picks up for you.

  5. Pauline thanks, getting a bit beyond a joke.
John, it will come as no surprise if I said I'd considered it.

  6. Every time I see the weather forecast for your part of the country I think to myself, I hope Adrian has his home pointing into the wind.

I like the first of the BW shots. Is the second partly solarised or just a result of the blending in of a different sky?

  7. John, we are fine, just lack of sleep with the old truck rocking. It's a problem uploading, generally images seem lighter, in this case was in a rush and failed to switch on Highlight warning, so blown highlights, my fault. Still quite dramatic, will post some before and afters in the next few days. Always one for extremes in either colour or mono.
