WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND (06/04/10)

Being for ever the optimist, that is when I’m not manic depressive, I hung out the feeders and look what I got. Three hours of entertainment that rivals Grand Prix qualifying. THIS IS A TRAILER. One hundred shots and only thirty in the bin.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Meal Worm, I don’t eat meal worms. I wish, not the price they are.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       First to arrive as usual,

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m full, I’ll pose.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA One click closer. I’ll have you.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA         Not if you want anymore peanuts you won’t.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA         Now I know I told you to expect one……………I’ve promised before………..OK through the truck windscreen but my best yet.

The birds round here are as cooperative as they get.  So I’ll see what I can get, practise and practise and the luckier I’ll get.

PS. I hate Bokeh but love depth of field. These are what it should be or the best I can do. No daft chromatic circles.

  7. Great set of photos Adrian. If you think the few meal worms a little bird can get through is expensive you should see how many a hungry hedgehog can scoff in one night!

  8. Great shot of the woodpecker. I don't have a digital of either a woodpecker (of any variety) or a nuthatch. One day I'll have the best of my old photos digitised - that is if I live to 132 1/2 with all my faculties.

  9. I reckon you are in an ideal spot Adrian....we will be seeing Jays, Marsh Tits and probably a whole host of woodland birds. Whatever happens ..once they get use to the Truck you will have hours of pleasure and unlimited subjects for your photography.

  11. Bob Thanks, Nuthatches a plenty here.

John, These were on offer in Tesco £2.50 for 160g.

GB there are several film scanners on the market and I don't recall them being expensive.

Trevor, yes it's the best I've seen and the light was perfect bright but overcast.

Petrus, thanks, it's been a difficult few weeks but this made up for it.

  12. I am on my second scanner already! The problem is not the scanner but the fact that I have thousands of negatives and photos: I have been taking photos since I were a lad and I'm anything but a lad now! I started sorting and scanning a few winters ago but I've only done a few thousand so far. I suspect it will be a work in progress when I pop my clogs.

  13. Looks like you're in a great spot! Glad to know that Molly returned OK ~ what an adventure for her, but such a worry for you, especially if she was gone for an hour. Such clear photos of a lovely variety of birds. It always helps when the sun decides to get in the picture! On your last post I read about the unfortunate pheasant and your mirror ~ one of which seemed to weigh 400 pounds ~ ;)

  14. Glo even she was pleased to be back. Takes her for ages to follow her own track home.
Pheasants are pretty stupid birds and can do considerable damage. Not as much as I did it. Still it's enjoyed a couple of months without being shot at.

  15. Adrian, these are cracking. That Nuthatch on the tree is excellent.
Like you say, the cost of the food worth every penny, for the entertainment value.

  16. Keith, it is very good here, I hate to say it but the Nuthatches are a bit of a pest, a beautiful pest.
