I waited till eight thirty before deciding that a trip to the river and some pictures of Moorhen, Pied Wagtail, Grey Wagtail and some small ducks I’d noticed yesterday, suspect they were Widgeon, was today’s objective.
It was not to be Molly and Alfie had other ideas it was play time. Yes I saw the birds but only rear views as the racket created by my companions drove the wildlife for miles around to cover.
In racing parlance the going was heavy…………………………..
After several excursions into the river it was time for a chase round. She chases him and then…………
He pursues her, the whole performance accompanied by yipping snapping and snarling out of all proportion to their size.
Alfie at near maximum velocity. They should sleep for a while when we get home.
What me!…………Filthy!…………..He is certainly not Snow White……I suggest Grumpy, though he has been less so of late. Must be settling in. I just hope he doesn’t get too settled.
I’m meeting my son for lunch. I have enough pictures today for another post, sans dogs. So I will do my best to let you see some more of the countryside in Derbyshire. Tomorrow we are heading back north to County Durham.
The poor birds, scared by two little dogs. Of course, they don't harm them, but it could have been some bigger dogs. They look like its time for a bath, how do you bath them?
ReplyDeleteWow, what a happy time!...and joy...!
ReplyDeleteRegars from Romania!

Great post Adrian. They certainly look like they're enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteThat last shot is priceless!
Some great action shots here showing the mood of the dogs as well. Nice
ReplyDeleteYou have a problem getting them back shipshape. Reminds me of my OLd English Sheepdog....what a nightmare it was to get him back to the Dulux state.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo made me laugh! Anyone who's owned dogs will relate to this lovely series.
ReplyDeleteAfter all that running around they must have been dog-tired!
ReplyDeleteI would reply individually as usual but my connection is fragile. Thanks to you all.
