I’ve been away and now I’m back. I’ve not had too many laughs of late but was amused by something I read last week. Our leader Dithery Dave went to America. The Americans treated him superbly. Not well enough for me as he has come home and dreamed up another barmy scheme……this week it’s privatisation of the roads……next week who knows? I’m hoping it will be a scheme to get water to the south of the country, failing that a trip to the Falkland Islands.
Back to his trip to the States, Obama gave him an aeroplane flight, bought him a hotdog and before that provided a ‘meeter and greeter’ with the wonderful monica of Randy Baumgardner…..Unfortunately the first ‘A’ in his surname is not a typographical error.
Last week I was in Coniston.
Coniston Water. This is as good as the weather got.
I’ve moved to Ravenglass.
All bright as you can see.
Enjoy your week.
Wonderful images Adrian.. it's good to hear your ok.
ReplyDeleteAndrew thanks. I'm just not too inspired at the moment.
DeleteStunning images.
ReplyDeletePantherka, thank you.
DeleteIt's a pity Dave didn't stay in America. He's more suited there.
ReplyDeleteI do like that second shot. Almost like a painting.
Keith, I doubt he would last five minutes. HDR can be good.
DeleteYou can see in all these shots that Winter is coming to an end!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you again Adrian1
DeeBee, I'll see if I can stick around.
Deletelovely images there Adrian. Nice to see you back.
ReplyDeleteShaun, many thanks.
DeleteGlad to see that your back, great photos.
ReplyDeleteHorst, it's good to be back.
DeleteAdrian beautiful pictures. The one of Ravenglass is superb, and would make a fine painting as would the pictures of Shogun. Thanks, have a great week.
ReplyDeleteGillian, it wouldn't if I painted it.
DeleteSounds like your politicians are as creepy as ours. I like photos of old "work" boats.
ReplyDeleteRed, I suspect they are much the same the world over.
DeleteHI Adrian...Your second shot is absolutely gorgeous...so still!!
ReplyDeleteLove the boats too ..you came back with some winners!!
I would get into the politics! ; ]
Grace
Grace, politics....we even have none stop coverage of your primaries.
DeleteAmazing photos!
ReplyDeleteDeno, I was lucky with the weather.
DeleteGood to see you again, Adrian. You certainly didn't return empty handed. Love the boats!
ReplyDeletePauline, many thanks.
DeleteI fell out with Blogger big time a few hours ago because I wrote a comment and it wouldn't publish it. So I did a test and it wouldn't publish that one either. One way and another Blogger is really pissing me off at the moment.
ReplyDeleteTo summarise my previous comment (there is a limit to the number of times I can indulge in being verbose) said how pleased I was to see that you were back and that I liked the boats. Of course the original had a greater level of subtle verbiage.
Graham, I do all blogs through Google Chrome which, touch silicon, seems to solve the problem.
DeleteLike GB above ,I have had problems leaving comments on several blogs, yours included for several weeks now.
ReplyDeleteI hope this one is received.
Wonderful photos, love the reflection of the clouds in the second one ,the boats are nice too.Glad to see you back Adrian, have a good week.
Carolyn, it is and thank you.
DeleteWelcome back to the weary wanderer. I can't work out whether the reflection on the Ravenglass photo is real or manipulated but either way I like the composition. By the amount of still water it looks as though you have had calmer weather than here. Too many days with cold winds.
ReplyDeleteI've copied this comment just in case things go belly up. At least I can just past it back for another attempt.
paste not past - I must get a keyboard which can keep up with me ;)
DeleteJohn, it is real. You can see a couple of rocks in the estuary. HDR does smooth the water unless one employs anti ghosting. if you click it will enlarge and look less perfect.
DeleteYou know my philosophy - blogging should be a pleasure not an obligation so if you feel like / need a break that's up to you. Buit a great welcome back!
ReplyDeleteAnti-ghosting? We call that exorcism or smudging!
Geesh, Adrain.. these are absolutely gorgeous pics.
ReplyDeleteHilary, thank you and thanks for the POTW.
DeleteJohn, Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnti-ghosting has been hijacked it now means keeping moving things still when combining multiple exposures. The secular will rule eventually.
Beautiful photography!! Congrats on your Post of the Week award.,
ReplyDeleteHugs
SueAnn
SueAnn. I'm happy you came by.
DeleteGreat photos Adrian. This is my first visit to your blog. Congrats on mention from Hilary - Dave
ReplyDeleteDave, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit.
DeleteWonderful, Adrian - calm and gracious and elegant.
ReplyDeleteJenny, thank you, it's a calm place.
Deleteglorious light! congrats on your POTW! :)
ReplyDeleteTexwisgirl, HDR gives them a lift but it was good weather.
DeleteWonderful pictures; there's so much beauty in these small islands, we shouldn't always look elsewhere. I try to get the Shropshire Hills better known.
ReplyDeleteNow we know what Dave's mate is doing: he's screwing the pensioners.
Friko, I agree. when one gets bored twenty miles and the whole ambience changes.
DeleteIt's not just pensioners it's the whole country. Dithery Dave is a man of limitless ambition.
Lovely, lovely. so glad I stopped by.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on POTW.
Hilary, thank you.
DeleteGreat images Adrian! Love the boats.
ReplyDeleteReena, the boats do add interest.
