HAPPY NEW YEAR. (31/12/13)

I have done a little video to wish you all a Very Happy New Year. I did find some Auld Lang Syne music but not only wouldn’t it load into the video editor.  It set Bling or Blong or Bonk or something as my default browser. I will run Windows castle or fortress and hope it picks it up. If not I need a good IT man, silly me. Fortunately the sun has just popped out so I’m happier than I was half an hour ago. I’m half back to Chrome. All the windows on the camper are open and a gentle breeze is doing it’s best to dry everything out.

I found a version of Amazing Grace that loads perfectly from Free Stock Music. It may have precious little to do with New Year but it is a grand tune and beggars can’t be choosers. The video is still a little nauseating. I must stop moving the camera around. Just because I have a pan and tilt head it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to use it. Now I must remember to put contrast and sharpness back on the 5D II or all my stills will be really flat.

_MG_2516                   This is the shed thingy I sheltered under whilst taking the video. What a difference a couple of hours can make.

This year I decided to make all my images free. It’s not that big a sacrifice as I hardly sell any. I get YouTube and Blogger free. I also use Blender which is free and would like to learn to use Lightworks which is almost free. I will also supply High resolution images free to anyone with a good excuse for wanting them.

As from tonight I’m having January off the campanology. It will be an alcohol free month. I’ve already tidied up my Desktop. It gets in a hell of a mess as I save bit’s of projects and important downloads there. It gets into a self defeating chaos.

LAUGHING HORSE avatar 2013I don’t usually accept award badges but I’m really proud of this one. I did not have to fill in a series of questions….grandma’s shoe size, what is your greatest regret, willy size or any of that nonsense. As to the latter the water in the burn is not only cold but deep. I did have to turn up in a virtual pub taproom in Sheffield in my best bib and tucker. The Pickled Frog.  Thank you very much MR PUDDING, much appreciated and after only two goes I got it displayed. For any numpties out there. There is now a Gadget in Blogger that allows one to drag and drop images into the side bar. I used to go HTML and pop in the URL of the image, this arseing about is a thing of the past. I know I only managed a category win. The last similar award I received was from JOHN but he stopped doing them years ago. I suspect he was dredging the barrel when I got one.

Where ever you are and whatever you wish to achieve in 2014 then the very best of luck.

Happy New Year.

  1. It has just gone midnight here Adrian ~ so Happy New Year! Yes there is a gadget to add an image to your sidebar. Easy peasy. The only thing I go into the HTML to do now is to copy and paste my You Tube clips, so they show up on mobile devices. Have you found the SHARE to Blogger button on You Tube?

    2. Carol, the video came out better than it sounded on scrub through. I'll give YouTube the credit. I really tried my best to balance two audio tracks and two video tracks. I was not happy with two hours editing but thought; it's the thought that counts. Sod It.
It is so easy but i went where I used to go into the add HTML and sommat else. I popped the URL in then was given a panel for description. I wrote all the code in there. With the smaller than and /bigger than signs .I wonder if I write it now will it work Nothing happened then I found the add image. Easy peasy.

  2. All the best for a Happy New Year Adrian, I hope it's a good one.
Congratulations on receiving such a prestigious award may 2014 bring you many more such accolades. And, you never know, with the right amount of arse licking and cow towing...and maybe with the odd large monetary donation to the ' it's the right thing to do' party you could, by the end of the year, be the proud owner of a shiny new medallion... of the highest order, of course!

Okay, so you told us that the water in the burn is deep and cold but you made no mention of how deep the mud in the bottom is, can you go back and have another measure please?

    Happy New Year...[;o)

    1. I was going to post on the honours list. I retrained myself as Ditheries bit on the side got one as did the geriatric that brought George into this world.
I refuse to lick YP's arse or the queens. One honour a year is enough for any man.
The bottom of the burn is very stony and abrasive.

  3. I do like that giant brolly you sheltered under; very nice.
    Have a great 2014 Adrian.

Have you tried doing a system restore to get rid of Bing? You should find it amongst the Accessories folder in Windows.

I'd forgotten system restore. I'll give it a whirl. Ta.
You have a good one if we are both still here I'll see you soon.

    1. Andrew, I just wish to survive. I'm signing the pledge for a month as my doctor says I'm a piss artist. He should know as he made the diagnosis in a pub. He was only a dram behind. I bow to education.
      Have a great year yourself.

  6. Congratulations on the award! Mr. Pudding is a gifted guy and apparently knows vets gifted in orthodonture.

Adrian, the first picture is incredibly good! I love the reflections in the water.

Loved the video too. The sound of the water flowing, the music and of course, my cyber buddy's voice that I now recognize. If you ever get over to the U.S., you and Alf and Moll are welcome at my house.

I'm going to check out the music site. Thank you! I like most gospel music even if I can't buy the doctrine. Maybe God is dark energy and doesn't control our lives but simply observes. He might drop a little grace on us now and then - because now and then we need a bit.

    1. It's a Yorkshire joke David.
I do wish I'd had a post war English and foreign languages teacher. It makes a world of difference when one is being learned.
I used to visit the US but only the east coast. I have recollections of a bar with Prawn boat scrappers in Florida. Big gentle men they were. I went to Idaho, evil sods they were. I went to Boston, didn't mention the tea business, They were fine in the bars, they all said they were Irish but didn't have the wit and repartee of the Irish. I guess I just met the dumb ones.
It is a hymn, it isn't what I wanted but it is an uplifting tune.
      Have a brilliant year.

  9. Norma, the area is a swamp. I really hated my voice when I first talked. I'm not enthused now but it's me. The Irish and the Scots give me confidence. The latter two swear so badly. Disgusting it is. Wee heathens they are.
    Happy New Year.

  10. Lovely area. For some reason, I'm not getting the sound while watching it in Blogger but it works when I click over to YouTube. And I'm with Norma.. I like your voice too. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year.

  19. All a bit late but this post just popped up in today's 'Reader'. I can't work out whether it's because I'm in Upside Down Land with 13 hours time difference to the UK (and a helluva lot more to the US) or what but it's becoming far harder work than it should be tracking everyone's posts and keeping up to date via Blogger's dashboard reader.
