TIME. (06/12/14)

I have time on my hands. The truck failed it’s MOT and all for the sake of a wheel bearing. I will get it back mid-morning Monday. I was not best pleased this morning as I’d paid for a full pre-test inspection. Had it failed on emissions then I could have understood but any clown can tell if a wheel bearing is worn. I was diplomatic, I bit my tongue and meekly told the mechanic he was a useless tosser. To be fair I never heard it either and suspect the tester was just being over picky, had a God complex, was probably born a miserable sod, the son of an evil twat and has been honing his inherited attributes ever since.

clock2    Lots Of Time.

It is raining hard here and the wind has picked up. It’s forecast to turn to snow by tomorrow. I hope it does as I like snow.

That’s all for today. Have fun.

    3. Carol, I'm happy it is appreciated. I thought you were joking when you said you would use it.

  2. Ooh, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of you. Beautiful image though.

  3. Oh...I wish I could do that. The cover of my novel Wheezy used that effect though not as dramatically (http://www.amazon.com/Wheezy-ebook/dp/B006GPK7V0),and the cover of the sequel with have to be complimentary. You mentioned the software I think in an earlier post. This springs forth so many ideas. Cool.

    1. R. Mac, Wheezy is a grand cover but was created by selecting several areas of the original image applying textures and colour shifts to them and playing with Blend Modes. I'll have a go at replicating the effect if you send me a photograph, the fonts used and the final size and resolution required by your printers. The larger the file size the better as more information gives a much smoother result.

  4. This clown wouldn't know a wheel bearing from a box of chocolates, but I'm sorry you're having a difficult time.

    1. Frances, I suspect the VOSA inspector of similar ignorance.

  5. Oh dear, bad news. About the van and about you with too much time on your hands. Anything could happen - and probably will. I look forward to seeing what it is.

    1. Pauline, I am cooking today and travelling tomorrow so it will be quiet on the picture front.

  6. Bad news about the van, given your attention to detail if there was something wrong with the bearing you would've picked up on it. Hope all goes well

    1. Douglas, They were all replaced 4,000miles ago along with the discs, pads and callipers. I bet the tester is a Weegie.

  7. Hi Adrian, you wouldn't like snow if you lived here, we had a dump of about 3 to 4 feet of snow last week. We had something like 200 accidents in one day (idiots that forgot how to drive in the winter). The schools in the country even had to shut the doors for 2 days. Have a great day in the snow tomorrow.

    1. Horst, three or four feet is too much. I am hoping for a couple of feet.
      You stay warm and safe.

  9. Only you cold see a few clocks and come up with "Lots of time." Repairs and inspection drive my crazy. Here only old cars go through an inspection. I had one old car.

    1. Graham, it is just a re-test so no panic. I haven't decided on a destination yet. I am hoping for a cold frosty winter.

    2. Adrian, I hope that wheel bearing failure has taught you a lesson and there will be no more doughnuts, handbrake turns and throwing the van around roundabouts from now on?
Have a safe (snowy?) journey....just take your 'time'!...[;o)

    3. Trevor, is that what caused it? I'll drive more sensibler in future.
The roads are fine today. They are pretty good at clearing them up here.

  12. I am with the conscientious MOT tester. When I am driving along I don't want rusty old campervans with wobbly wheels careering into me - even when they are driven by gifted photographers with yapping off-white dogs.
