A SPLASH OF COLOUR. (13/11/12)

Life is a struggle at the moment. I still get out but am not getting any good images. I found the last of the autumn colour this morning.

PB134626_27_28_29_30_tonemapped_edited-1       A few flowers on the gorse would not have gone amiss.

adrianfluteposeI forgot to include this wonderful image of an Adrian in his prime. Many thanks GLO you did an excellent job. Though you couldn’t know it I love the clothes.

I’m still trying with the flute but my fingers seem to have slowed down…..I’ll try that green mussel juice…….perchance I’ll have to stop playing my flute. I’ll also have to cut down on the cigarettes….It takes a hell of a lot out of me blowing across the damn thing. I was never any good on it but I was much younger and rubbish.

Enjoy the rest of your week…..I’m still hanging around waiting for the Hasselblad. When that day arrives then all pictures will be in square format.

  1. At least, Adrian, you can be self-deprecating about playing a flute. I don't even know how to hold one. My lack of knowledge and ability knows no bounds.

    1. Having arthritic thumbs does not make the job any easier. Try a clarinet or Sax...very similar fingering.

  2. Adrian, Awesome photo of your nimble self. Congrats to Glo. Hope you get the Hasselblad soon. I hope you have a good scanner to scan all the square negs. Have a great week.

    1. Horst, scanners are coming down in price. A few hundred for a good canon or Epsom...not the thousands they were a few years ago. the cheap ones are not so good on colour negs but seem fine on reversal film.

  3. Sometimes the last little bit of color can be a great one.
Keep at the flute. Cool clothes!

  4. You make me laugh! That shot is hilarious. Your landscape shot is stunning. But then again they always are:) Life has been busy for me as well and I'm finding that I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything. So much work and then running around when I get some free time. Maybe if you play the flute long enough some interesting rodents will come your way:)

  5. Looks like the bare branches reaching above the gorse have brushed shades of grey across the autumn sky ~ a moody mix of texture.

Thanks for including the pic of Adr-ian. It was fun to do, and the clothes suit you well; I especially like the boots. Hope DawnTreader sees it since she was the one suggesting the pose in her comments to this posting. :)

    1. Glo, I don't know how you find the time to do them....some library you must have.

    2. Glo, you did a fabulous job with Adr-ian (haha)... Adrian, you keep practising on the flute, and remember those nice clean boots are for showtime and not for wading through muddy marshland...

  6. Like the subdued colours in the landscape Adrian.

I reckon you should up the cigarette count, think of the image....haunting flute music enveloped in an atmospheric cloud of cigarette smoke, it'll knock 'em dead!!

Can you reeeally stand on one leg like that or, like me, do you need a wall behind you?...[;o)

  7. Trevor, I am sure I can after a good session on the falling down water.
This image is of me lying down.....horizontal thinking??

  8. It has been rather dull and rainy here too, definitely not my favorite time of year. You found a little spot of colour though, take care.
Love those pics Glo does, she's amazing.

    1. Gillian, it's warm enough but damp and misty. They are good, I don't really look this posh.

  10. I think the first shot wouldn't have looked as Autumny with flowers Adrian. Just right as it is. Hasselblad eh? Wasn't that the camera they took to the Moon?

    1. John, I am struggling for pictures at the moment.
Yes the NASA Hasselblads now fetch a kings ransom there are one or two for sale....Google if you are interested in seeing what one can't afford.
I've looked at a couple of the V series and they are built like a tank....not like a watch though they are clockwork...turret clock work.
