PLANET REVISITED. (03/06/14)

I was happy with yesterdays playtime but woke this morning thinking they could be better.

It was a bit showery this morning but by tea time the sun was out and all was bright.

LNSPlanetPlanet     As originally edited and posted yesterday.

lynLNSPlanet    Re-edited to remove some of the grass.

lnssunnypanplanet    Re-shot this evening. It would probably look better with the blue sky at the top but that isn’t a problem.

I’ll try and find something interesting tomorrow but will have to start packing the van as I’m moving on Thursday.

Have fun.

  1. Yes. I think they are an improvement in that the outer circle appears less fragmented. It's still a very peculiar art form though.

  2. Wowee Adrian, fantastic photos. It's enough to make me wild, a circular world.

    1. Bob, They are a bit silly but fun to do and it's a challenge to not have to clone.

  3. Oh, Adrian - I still totally fail to understand these pictures. They make me dizzy. And why is there sky all round the grass?

    1. Frances, I'll endeavour to explain.
I stand in the middle of a field and start taking overlapping pictures. I keep turning round until I get back to where I started. I then join them all together in a long strip. This is a panorama and includes the complete horizon. I then put it through a few manipulations so the place where I twirled around becomes the Pole, the idea is that it is the view from space looking down on a tiny world or planet.
If you click to enlarge them, between the grass and sky you will see the horizon here at Foyers. Buildings, trees, hills and mountains.
I'll try not to do any more for a while.
PS. Falling down water makes me dizzy, I still enjoy it.

    2. Hmm...

Btw do you often fall down water? Well, so long as you enjoy it...

    3. Frances, tthhrree ttiimmeessee a week. On average.
As long as I can exist without it then I'm not an alcoholic. I can last ever so long but when I get the taste I think of daft things to do. I post, shoot and write the same day. It's how I like to work.

    1. Hilary, you like most viewers feel spin. I don't. Probably because I'm pouring all over them looking for bits that haven't matched up, cloning out my shadow and spot removing the little creature that is somewhere on the sensor.

  5. Hmm, yes, I think the world looks a bit better with a lumpy skyline. But the last one makes me feel a bit ill. I've just realized I have to pack a bag, too. Thanks for the reminder. Happy travels!

    1. Pauline, I'll stop doing them now. I have a series of postcards to sort out.

    1. Mersad, I enjoy playing. They can be really good if you look on Flicker. I just do them now and again but you have to work fast once you start shooting.

  8. Amazing pictures Adrian. I have admired many of your photo experiments but this little visual adventure has produced very eye-catching images - especially the last one.

    1. YP, I just love digital. I love playing but these are all about getting it right in camera then playing on the computer. I have to keep thinking of daft things to do. Then I have to think about buying a bigger computer.
For this the biggest headache is trying to get everything levelled up. This used well over £1k of tripod and spherical head plus leveller. I've been doing them for years without but I strive for perfection. I just wish I was an artist. An artist without Piss in front of Artist.
