BUZZY THE MOVIE. (12/05/16)

I was going to post this on Friday but as it seems to take Blogger over half a day to get my posts to show on the reading list I'll post it now and hope it appears tomorrow. I am beginning to wonder if Google are trying to tell me something.
I am half pleased with this but will keep doing them as I can only improve.
This is 1080 so if you have the bandwidth it is worth going the whole hog for the bigger Bee.
Have a good weekend.

  1. Fabulous job. The graphics, your voice at the beginning, the video itself are all excellent. However, the music you chose was perfect for the bee, it sounded like a bee at times and it's tempo was bee-like movement. Loved it!

  2. I did enjoy this.Loved the title and the end words. Now i was thinking about the pollen, I did see it however perhaps if that bit had been slow motion, it might have worked better. Just a suggestion.

    1. Margaret, I agree. I did try to slow it down in post production but I had to alter the curves to highlight the pollen and then Blender kept crashing with a speed control strip. It doesn't work too well anyway as it really requires 100 fps or higher. I can only shoot 24 or 25fps.

  4. As a long-time professional I can say with authority that you are a natural for the right sort of narrations... The music buried you at times, but was well chosen. I'm with Marty and Margaret-- good job.

    1. Bill thank you. I struggle with audio, I was sure I had put a longer fade in on the music but must have forgotten. I should have left it an hour and come back and adjusted it with a clear or clearer mind.

  5. Well done all round Adrian. Your titles are stunning. Following bees is far from easy. I've rarely tried it tripod mounted, usually hand held with the pocket Nikon.
I put my Friday offering up this morning. We'll see how long it takes to appear as you are not alone with these delays.

    1. John, I have no chance without a tripod. Not at this magnification anyway. I could try stabilising in post by dropping to 720.
I waited most of yesterday then i get two posts up at once. Don't know what the problem is.

  6. Adrian,
I love this piece. The video is magic, and what a great voice you have for voice-over narration: impressive!
    Take care, McGregor

  7. Cracking video Adrian, you've done an excellent job. I've got 'into' mining bees over the last couple of weeks and have been trying to get some decent images..it's not easy!
Just in case you were wondering I reckon 'your' bees are female (the males are smaller and not so well coloured) Orange-tailed Mining Bees (Andrena haemorrhoa)...[;o)

    1. Thanks Trevor, I found a few burrows last year but they aren't there this year. I'll keep looking as they can't be far away.

  8. Because my life is what it is on a Friday night, I watched it all full 27" screen. I liked the orange flowers in part 2, and the music suited the flitting well.

    1. John, the screen size makes a big differnce but it means I have to be a bit more careful editing. The Orange plant is a pyracanthus I think. It has leaves like a miniature holly.

  9. Well, Adrian, all that work and learning has been worth it and have given you great satisfaction. That really is impressive. Not only that but I enjoyed it too: good and appropriate choice of music.

    1. Graham, I find image manipulation totally absorbing. I am now at the stage where I can work the software and start concentrating on the job itself. The end bit tracking is out and there are numerous other little glitches. Shooting and processing 1080 doesn't leave room for much adjustment in post production. Roll on 4K.
The music is from YouTube and they have plenty of it. It takes me ages to find so here is a link.

      It's under creators>Audio Library I think.
