A RUINED DAY. (12/07/13)

Yesterday in between the sea frets it was beautiful. I went a good walk and only got the camera out about halfway round. That was a waste of time both battery and memory card were back in the van. I blamed the dogs for rushing me.

This morning I went down to try and tempt the Eider Ducks closer. A fruitless task. They don’t eat bread.

I regained the cliff top and thought this young lady was thinking of jumping._V0G7120     It turned out to be a false alarm…..she was meditating. I ruined her meditations and from her attitude the rest of her year…..We all make mistakes from time to time!

I’m moving about twenty miles down the road to a place in the middle of nowhere called Altnaharra. It may or may not have a broadband signal. I’m only there for a week so enjoy the rest and look after yourselves.

I’ve done a new header, which I think is a bit more subtle…..not a lot more but a step in the right direction.

_MG_0854   This is what I call restrained.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Like the new header, you obviously have your 'chi' more centred now. Some people don't allow for others to just make a mistake do they? Bloody stupid place to meditate anyway.

    1. Specially with the thick end of twenty knots of wind behind her behind. She wasn't best pleased but that was probably down to me saying. "Hey Up Lass are you okay." I did have the foresight to leave the camera on continuous. Just in case my sympathetic approach didn't work.

The header needs another weeks work. I'm not sure Neon tubes are the way I want to go.

  2. I'm sure those little terrors were very apologetic for causing your forgetfulness Adrian, and I bet that's not the first time that you've managed to interrupt a woman and stop her from enjoying herself?

Great artwork, and on the new header.

Have a good move, weekend and week...[;o)

    1. Trevor I choose to ignore your sarcasm.
I got a reasonable imitation of the light from my magnificent text. I the thought the job was done. Not a bit I'm now making a displacement map of the waves for the shadow text, then I'll drop it's opacity down and give it a bit of blur to hide what I did wrong.
The entertainment I get from Photoshop....it is hard to use but very satisfying and frustrating.

I suggest giving her a copy of the photograph. If that doesn't make up for interrupting her session, then she needs to meditate for a long time.

    1. David, I copied this across from my e-mail. You are relatively new to Blogland. Google are being a pain again. Nothing new, it's free. They can please themselves. Next thing to madness is meditation or Pilates.

  4. Was going to mention about the title reflection bending with the waves but you already have that in hand. Don't blame the pooches if it goes wrong.

Time you made a big fluorescent notice for the inside of the door - check battery, check memory (and card) ;)

  6. John. The power of proper Photoshop is mind blowing and mind boggling. I got about fifty editable and managable layers getting this far. It's a whole new world.
Pity I can't read the previews as I'm editing. I've now learn't to let it render my efforts. I can still go back and adjust. I thought , like video it was tamperless once rendered. Not at all. It's the dogs bits.
CS6 the best eight hundred pounds I've spent...even if I'm not sure what it is doing or what it can do.
Blowing glass tubes is a skill I'll leave to artisans, The font is from daFont.com. They come zipped but unzip with PS not active and they load fine. I just press install.
It's always the dogs fault. I have to have someone to blame.

  8. Your memory is full and you have a super imagination. So you forget batteries and a memory card. So this woman is going to jump and you save her.
    Quite a day you had.
Then you with me a very jazzy happy weekend.
    Well done.

  9. West Wemyss. That's the place for Eiders up close with all their chicks. Of course if you go there next May/June then I'm sure they'll deploy elsewhere just to annoy you.

  10. Thank you for re-posting my comment. I agree Blogger has been a pain lately. As for my comment about meditation, I actually know nothing about it or Pilates. It was just an off the cuff remark meaning that the lady seemed far too self absorbed. If she didn't realize that another human being caring for her safety was more important than any temporary lull in the pain of her apparently tormented soul, then too bad. Unfortunately for her outlook on life, she has to share this planet with millions of other humans, some of which wouldn't give whit if she lived or died.

    1. David, the comments nonsense is the latest ploy by Google to keep us on our toes.
The girl was a bit cross. I'll see if she's there again this morning and go and apologise.

  12. Hi Adrian I think you were right to speak to the girl, She could have been thinking of jumping and if so, you could have prevented her. I know that was not the case but how would you have felt if she had jumped and you have never said anything. for me, it would be better getting a rebuff from her than having a possibly death happen in front of me! Just my opinion. So don't feel too bad about this, if she meditated more, she would not have had this cross attitude. Have a great weekend. Margaret

    1. There are better and taller cliffs to jump from round here. She wasn't there this morning so perhaps she found one more to her liking. I doubt it she seemed the sort that's hard to please.

  14. I thought the whole point of meditating was to calm oneself down etc, obviously ain't working, give her a shove next time.
