I wonder what folk will make of this post?
I was sitting in the van listening to the rain bouncing down when I noticed a little clear sky. It is cool at 4°C and when I let the hens out it was quite breezy……I was frozen when I got back to the camper.
Our walk started off reasonably sensibly,
CLEARING SKY.
I took a tripod and a flash unit out for some woodland scenes. The dogs disappeared deer hunting.
Nothing very exciting but then Mel arrived with her Spaniels and my Westies in tow. She asked what I was doing today. I tried to get her to pose but she hadn’t done her hair or put her face on……..I could see her face so what that was about I don’t know. I persuaded her to work the shutter whilst I posed.
CHECKING THE SET.
It’s fine………………….Here we go.
HEAR NO EVIL etc, etc.
I can’t remember if this is in the correct order but I did get Mel’s e-mail so she could see the result of her clicking. I have asked her before as she is well worth taking out for a pie and a pint.
Have a good week.
Fabulous post. You all look great.. or maybe.. All of you look great!
ReplyDeleteLaura, not often anyone says that about me.
DeleteIt was good of those three wise monkeys to pose for you Adrian...I hope you gave them some nuts for their trouble?
ReplyDeleteA tree with a face on...and a human without a face on!!?...It's a strange world that you're living in!...[;o)
Trevor the wise monkeys had porridge for breakfast.
DeleteThings are getting a bit weird here.
yer having phun now!
ReplyDeleteR.Mac, I am.
DeletePlaying with such exposures is fun.
ReplyDeleteJohn, yes but a bit silly.
DeleteSomething really weird is happening in them woods. Yesterday you caught a ghostly apparition scaring yocals now there's three off the ghostly apparitions...spooky going on's
ReplyDeleteDouglas, I'll make a real effort and put a stop to it.
DeleteI can't decided which puzzles me more; your triple selfie, or the fact that you keep hens. Hens in a van. With you, and dogs. How....oh, never mind.
ReplyDeleteFrances, the selfie bit is easy. The hens live on the farm and as everyone is away I look after them.
DeleteThe dogs would like them in the van. They know hens are domestic birds and don't worry them.
Adriaan what is there an artist in you.
ReplyDeleteBas, I wish I was an artist. If there is one he is very well hidden.
DeleteCracking post Adrian, i like the faint face in the tree, spookey
ReplyDeletepeter
Peter, the face is done in camera. If you want instructions then email me.
DeleteOh I love your last photo!
ReplyDeleteLinda, the wonders of Photoshop. These are easy to do plenty of tutorials on the internet I expect.
DeleteVery good...!
ReplyDeleteAnnie, thank you.
DeleteThe first two shots are delightful--- The last is even more so.
ReplyDeleteBill, I like the first one. The last is just playtime.
DeleteIn my judgement you had a very good walk. You found a nice trail in the woods and found somebody to take your photo and have fun with them. Cool!
ReplyDeleteRed, yes a much better morning than I expected.
DeleteBrilliant. Your zaniness at it's best and some technical wizardry to boot. As for wondering, I did some once but it hurt and I never tried it again.
ReplyDeleteGraham, most wondering is beyond me. I spent most of yesterday working out how to make a shutter tester. I gave up but will have another go today.
DeleteYou have certainly cracked Photoshop. Must be preparing for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I know some of it, this was a quick job but good enough for the internet.
DeleteThe picture of my head on the tree is not Photoshop but a 4s exposure and flash. I pose and then run away when the flash fires. It is hit and miss as you either have to increase/decrease flash duration or shift the tripod.
HI Adrian I think you have been on the Poteen. Now the face in the treeis spooky but the the 3 apparitions are fabulous. keep taking the stuff!
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I haven't touched the demon drink for weeks.
DeleteI'll try and think of another little story to tell. They are harder to take than they are to Photoshop. The light has to be constant so i used the sun for back light and a strobe for fill.
Safwan, there must be lots of tutorials on the internet. If you want to play then any software with layers and decent selection tools will work. Don't use a model with a lot of hair or if you do pop a hat on them. Hair can be selected but takes much longer.
ReplyDeleteIf you get stuck then I'll send an email with some screen grabs.
Adrian,
ReplyDeleteThat there are three of you explains the fact that you can keep a daily blog. I think it would take one of me just to get a blog started. I would need another of me to do the photography, two more to handle the technical challenges (one constantly sorting out the other), another to meet the demands of writer, another to cook to feed the others: think of the potential! From lurking in trees to triplicates and beyond, you demonstrate formidable, inspiring, and much envied story-telling skills, indeed. Bravo! McG
Karen, Never in my history have I received such a glowing comment.
DeleteThank you but I suspect I should get out more.
You might not see, hear or speak no evil but you are certainly thinking it! Mel had better watch out or you will be chasing her through the woods yelling "Come here my beauty!" - just as Robin Hood did when pursuing Maid Marion.
ReplyDeleteYP, there is a fourth monkey but didn't like to ask her to snap that gesture.
DeleteIt looks like a wonderful place to walk. I love the final composite image of you... very clever!
ReplyDeleteLiz, they are easy to do but much easier if there are two to get the pictures.
