I've been scouring flickr looking for a spooky photo for Wheezy which I'm repackaging. So hard to find the right image for a cover. I may have to create my own photo. Do you have any tips on that streaky thing?
R. Mac, these were 5s exposures. The best results seem to be by starting at the top and moving the camera down using a tripod and Pan/tilt head. I use the timer get ready then tilt down slowly for about 4s then stop. The strobe then fires as I have it on 2nd curtain. It's a bit hit and miss but the track between the trees seemed to work reasonably. I have tried panning and whilst it works at night with street lights it doesn't work with trees. Flash duration is about half to start with but these ended up at full on a Canon 430 strobe. I try and set off the tilt very slowly speed up a tiny bit then stop before the shutter closes. Obviously exposure time is not critical as the difference between 4s & 8s is only a stop. In the Florida sun you may need to use a 2 0r 4 stop ND filter. Give it a whirl and have fun. Email if you want to know anything else.
As usual you have a lot of fun with a topic. When I saw the first one I thought ,"Can't he do any better than that?" Then I saw what you were doing. You had me sucked in with the streaking!
There's something weird going on down in the woods!....Is it an alien force field?....a crack in the time continuum maybe?...or is it just a slip in the space vortex? No, I've got it...It's just that strange bloke playing silly beggers again!
Great results from your 'playtime' Adrian, I like the selfies...[;o)
Trevor, this is very restrained. I met a couple of folk who are used to finding me prostrate taking pictures of fungi or insects but both were driven to using rude words in Fifeish.
Your pose in the first picture proves that you could easily forge a new career as a male model for the Freemans' catalogue - older gentleman's section - but having half a head could be your downfall. Not a good look in my view.
Seriously weird.
ReplyDeleteGraham, I have my weird head on.
DeleteI like the two last images !
ReplyDeletehappy weekend
Thanks Marty. Not too bad for straight out of camera. I did crop a bit.
DeleteI love the disappearing Cheshre cat look-alike in the las selfie! You look very rural and ....rustic? Nice to see a bit more of you.
ReplyDeleteFrances. it is how long I stay still for. It's about a five second exposure but I then Have to move my head.
DeleteDifferent, but nice...and very interesting!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, it's just a bit of fun with digital before I get confident enough to commit to film.
DeleteVayaaa jugando al escondite :)))
ReplyDeleteBuenas fotos Adrian. La cuarta me gusta mucho.
Buen fin de semana.
Un abrazo
Laura, que es un poco tonto. Algo hay que hacer en una mañana oscura húmeda.
DeleteFun stuff, Adrian.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I enjoyed myself. five second exposures with second curtain flash.
DeleteI see you! Have a great weekend, Adrian!
ReplyDeleteTerri, but only just.

ReplyDeleteRed, fun it is but it's not easy being an idiot.
DeleteI vote for you to streak ONLY this way. LIked the second selfie, by the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill.
DeleteGreat set of photos, you never fail to entertain.
ReplyDeletepeter
Peter, not great but I as pleased. The hit rate isn't very high.
DeleteWell, if you have the urge to streak, that's the way to go I guess. I kinda like the second selfie, at least it's original.
ReplyDeletePauline, qualified praise..........Nothing wrong with that. I am surprised so many folk have passed comment.
