We walked the other way again this morning. It was barely light but the sky was very unusual. I didn’t bother with the camera and birds today……..I like to try and preserve a little dignity. There were lots of curlew, redshanks and sandpiper around but around is a relative term….a couple of hundred yards around. This is the rail bridge across the estuary.
They have kindly bolted a footbridge to the side of it………saves swimming across. The estuary can be forded at low water.
Great sky. This is pretty big and will enlarge with a click.
One from playtime last night………I really ought to make the effort to get out more……..For those that haven’t seen it before this is the Moon.
Have a great weekend.
Now, that is a canny bridge, and what about the moon, hoooooooooooooooooowwl.
ReplyDeleteAnother few days till it's fit to howl at Bob.
DeleteI'm actually not to sure I would like to be on that bridge when a train comes by, unless it goes slowly across of course, though given current temps' it has to be better the fording the river. It looks an amazing place. Love the sky and cloud formations on the image above the moon
ReplyDeleteThey are rail cars that use this bridge Douglas.
DeleteIt's an area well worth a visit RSPB Leighton Moss is twenty miles south. The World Owl Centre is here....I'll go next week. The estuary, though good for waders is a bit open and they can see you coming.
That's a fine looking bridge Adrian.
ReplyDeleteMoon pictures I can take or leave, but that's not bad. I think they always look better when they ain't full. Gibbon, or something, isn't it?
Keith, it's a waxing gibbous moon. I prefer gibbon but then I like monkeying around.
DeleteHi Adrian, love the second image from the bottom. Great shot of the moon.
ReplyDeleteCheers Horst.
DeleteThats a lovely pic of the water, even better when you click it.
ReplyDeletepeter
Peter right place at the right time.
DeleteExcelentes fotografias....
ReplyDeleteCumprimentos
Fernando obbrigado.
DeleteLoving the vanishing point angle on the bridge and the sea / landscape with that magnificent sky.
ReplyDeleteJay, superb sky I'm not sure what the clouds are but woyuld guess lenticular.
DeleteI like your new header. It would give me the creeps if a train was on the bridge the same time as me!
ReplyDeleteRed. Trains aren't a problem they just rumble past slowly. The station is not far from the end of the bridge.
DeleteHi Adrian, love the second to last shot, terrific when enlarged. Beautiful place.
ReplyDeletePauline it is a good place to be stuck. The lightis rarely the same two days running.
DeleteFirstly must to say that I like the new blog header. The bridge is really quite lovely, and built in a time when how it looked mattered. Did you use Bertha for the moon picture?
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary.
DeleteBertha with a 2x teleconverter or extender as Canon call them. Mirror locked up and cable release. IS off. The tripod was tensioned with a dog mooring screw as it was a bit breezy.
Excellent set of images of the estuary (beautiful sky!) and bridge Adrian.
ReplyDeleteLovely detail in the shot of the cheese, er! I mean moon!!...[;o)
Trevor the moon moves fast but not as fast as the birds. Bertha works fine for the moon.
DeleteNice moon!
ReplyDeleteMaria, the moon is fine but I'll try exposure blending it next time as I don't like the clipped background.
DeleteWonderful moon photo - I do love the moon! I'm not so sure that I would describe the bridge as 'bonny' though.
ReplyDeleteI will try and get the moon at a quarter full I want to see the sea of tranquillity on it's horizon.
DeleteThe bridge....I will admit is a bit thin to be Bonny but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
