Yesterday was a wash out, the weather was horrendous. Snow, gales, rain and driving hail.
The repairs are still ahead of schedule. the axles were collected and are now being examined. I hate being old. I nearly crippled myself lifting them onto the truck. It seems only yesterday that I’d have thrown them on.
We enjoyed a relatively dry walk this morning.
The light is much the same. This image will enlarge with a click. The two sticks either side of the water mark the ford.
I must have strolled past this mosaic dozens of times and never thought it worth a photograph. To be honest I have never really noticed it.
A Snow Drop for Valentines Day. They are the only flowers available here. The weather is looking better for the next few days so I’ll try and get out and about.
I’ll have to get on with replying to all the e-cards associated with this romantic day……That’s that job done! For reasons I find hard to fathom I don’t seem to be in great demand this year.
Have a great day.
It's a bugger getting old Adrian!....maybe a spot of sun on your back in the next few days will ease all the aches and pains!!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't say 'gallops' on that van!!
I hope you're going to tell us the story behind that mosaic? I guess there was once a Whaling fleet there?
Valentines cards!!...do they still make them?...I haven't had any for years!!...[;o)
Trevor, it is awful. I am thinking of smoking and drinking more. Might even buy some Niagara pills and go out in a blaze of glory.
DeleteHe only pops horses into venison mince....!
The boat I suspect is supposed to be a Roman galley. They are big on Romans here.
I make my own for a select group of three hundred ladies....I suspect that Yahoo are suffering a problem as I've had not one reply.....Reciprocation must be a thing of the past.
No snowdrops in sight here yet (all covered with snow!) Nice to be reminded of them. I also like that mosaic. Vikings??
ReplyDeleteMonica, I wish it were cold and snowy here. The fells are.
ReplyDeleteI think that the mosaic dates from the Millennium. they tidied the village up in 2000. I suspect it is meant to be a Roman ship. I'll try and find out.
You may not be in much demand but you keep busy. I looked at the axles and said I hope they have a hoist to lift those. Well your in good shape to lift them. You need a good break in your weather. we've had a break. We've had daily highs around 0 C for two weeks.
ReplyDeleteRed....like a bit of the Worlds Strongest Man it was frozen fingers not helping.
ReplyDeleteTwo days fine are promised. lets hope so!
Happy Valentine's Day, Adrian! I love the little green hearts inside of the snowdrop petals. Hope your van is back on its axles soon and that the weather perks up.
ReplyDeleteThank you Glo.
DeleteDont knock yourself out lifting stuff , i know its a bugger getting older, but the pains at our age seem to last a long time. Keep well Adrian, you need to keep fit to use big Bertha !!!
ReplyDeletepeter
Peter, It does take ages to heal. Sunday is looking good for Bertha.
DeleteNor me, I don't think that anybody loves me, awe.
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic Adrian.
ReplyDeleteAs for the cards, e or otherwise, not had any in years.
Keith I don't know how I've managed to walk past it so many times.
DeleteSending a canadian ice flower of love ... Always, cat.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cat....much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou've a long way to go before you are old Adrian. I should know. You are younger than me and I'm still only in the prime of middle age. The bits that have been removed or need replacing are just aberrations of the body.
ReplyDeleteGraham, I feel old some days. The result of too little clean living I suspect.
