JUSTICE. (27/02/13)

I have been hoist by my own petard and have been served my just deserts. I admitted yesterday that whilst all you southerners have been sitting under a blanket of cold wet cloud I have enjoyed wall to wall sunshine. I felt quite smug.

_V0G5546_edited-1     Freezing fog this morning……it was even icing up my beard and woolly hat. Vile it is so here are a few sunny pictures from the last few days.

_V0G5542_edited-1            This poor mite was caught by a Kestrel three weeks ago and escaped. It is a real mess but is eating and surviving.

_V0G5540_edited-1           A Collared Dove half of a pair that visit.

_V0G5525_edited-1          One of dozens of Chaffinch this one is female.

_V0G5511_edited-1        House Sparrows.

_V0G5518_edited-1         Finally a Goldfinch.

That’s all for today.

  1. The poor mite caught by the kestrel looks as though it might have been better had the kestrel finished it off. I'm surprised that it can fly never mind perch and eat.

    1. It seems to get around fine. I tried to catch and see to it a fortnight ago but it is too quick for me.

  2. Ha! Ha! That'll teach you for being so smug!

It's good to see that you've been getting in a lot of practice at this bird photography malarkey, I can tell you're getting the bug for it now, you'll be a full on bird photographer before long!!

It looks like that Great Tit was given a pretty good mauling by the Kestrel, it appears not to be using it's right leg/foot? I hope it pulls through...[;o)

    1. Peter. Yes it is, they have got used to the van and Bertha. It is a complicated lens for a numb nut to use.

  5. The foggy shot is rather atmospheric though. (had some sunshine here today)
That Great Tit looks a real mess.

    1. Keith I first saw it a couple or three weeks ago. It still survives. It is a mess and is a survivor. Long may it remain so. I must admit to liking the assassin. She sits in a tree a hundred yards away and comes in to the feeders at Mach 1. Glad I'm not on her menu. She gets one a day.

  6. So with the run on luck and superstition you're having there won't be any birds tomorrow. Nicely done on the injured bird.

    1. Red there will be plenty of birds but whether they will be visible is another matter.
