THEY ARE BACK. (11/07/16)

It’s been a funny sort of day. Very humid but dry for the most part.

I only got one picture this afternoon as the flash batteries died and I hadn’t had the foresight to take replacements.

_V0G0110 Common Red Soldier Beetles, Rhagonycha fulva.  There are lots of other insects sharing the Hogweed umbral. I’ll have a serious insect session tomorrow as there was a good selection today.

    1. Bill, they are commonly known as Bonking Beetles. It's rare to find one on it's own.

    1. Margaret, I don't know what the little flies are. I'll try for some pictures later and there is also a tiny mite at the end of the females right antenna. I'll try and get 3 or 4X on the sensor.
