SWINGS.

It is vile here this morning, nasty wet misting stuff.
Yesterday the dogs had a long overdue haircut. The council are moaning about the haircutter being open but then they get paid whether they work or not.

It's always the same. They are standing together and as soon as I've got the camera sorted one decides to have a tiddle and the other disappears under a car.

Here they are, a bit damp but reasonably clean and tidy.

I've been playing with a pendulum in Blender as I would like to make an animated Newtons Cradle. It is harder than I thought it would be.
This is as far as I've got. Hang on a minute or two I'll show you it in motion. It could be anything in a still.

Now to develop this further. I can see it keeping me amused for a while.
Have a good weekend and don't go kissing bats or politicians.

  1. The dogs look like they had a fair old trim up. Very nice.

    1. Rachel it was a good couple of months overdue. The worlds gone crazy, one can't find a doctor for love nor money but we have some jobsworth from the council advising on health matters.

  2. Agnie, thank you, they are a pair of little devils.

  3. The dogs look very shorn!

You must have immense patience to do such computer animation.

    1. Lucy, the dogs always look like this after a haircut, they are happier for it. I did try doing them myself once with the horse clippers but I made a real mess of the job.
I enjoy Blender but have recognised that I'll never really master it.

  4. Looking good on doggy and animation fronts. I can imagine the Newton's Cradle animation taking some working out as I assume with each collision there must be some fractional loss of momentum.

    1. John, the dogs were a mess, wandering round the farm and workshops doesn't help.
Newton didn't account for friction and fortunately I can ignore it as well. I had a go earlier and it's getting all the parents and children in the right order. Keeps me amused.

  5. It must be 11 years almost to the day since I first came across Molly (and Midmarsh John). So much has happened in those 11 years but we're still here to tell the tale. What on earth brought that on?

    1. Graham, I was trying to work out how old Moll is, thirteen possibly fourteen. Alf is a couple of years younger. John is really old but still manages to produce some wonderful gadgets and what is more programme them.

  6. I always enjoy seeing those two dogs, with or without haircuts. It must be hard keeping them clean on the farm. They are lucky to have you - and vice versa.

    1. Pauline, they do get a bit mucky but as they don't seem to mind I don't let it worry me.
