MAINLY PEBBLES (13/10/09)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   A glorious morning, so after a leisurely breakfast and a check round the pond decided to go for a walk and explore a little more of the coast. I fully appreciate that these pebble beaches are far from ideal for lazing on but I love the textures.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      Access to this little cove is easy, not that easy, slipped and have sustained grievous trauma to my Achilles Tendon. I exaggerate, it's merely sore.

That's enough boulders, more than enough I suspect!

Happened across this little waterfall and clambering up twelve feet a small pool, I imagine it being impressive after heavy rain. After I had consulted the map I realised it is the stream draining the pond next to my camp. Glad I found it here.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA The walk home along the cliff top. This really is a superb part of the world. No birds about, no nothing about, not even a rabbit. As we approached home the Buzzard managed a fly past. No Dragon Flies either, it was cold last night so wonder if that's it for this year. We are moving on tomorrow but will be back here.

That's all.

  1. I seem to have missed a few of your posts recently so I'm playing catch up. Photos of the various dragons are fine. I think the only times I have managed to freeze a flying one it has been really sunny and speeds have been 1/2000 or better.

You are finding some great views at your various stops. Plenty of variety in the pebble colours. Bet they really show well when wet.

The amount of yellow on your grey wagtail seems about the same as on the only one I have seen.

I can see Molly is also enjoying the experience.

  3. Thanks John I write a post every day but refuse to let cyberspace dictate the location. Even getting Hawkers or Emperors deserves a medal. The damn things never stop.

  7. I love reading this blog. Having travelled over most of the UK it brings back wonderful memories. Maybe not Newquay Wales where my step-daughter stopped me from visiting Port Merion (The Prisoner village) because she had arranged to meet some boy at Newquay. After a long moody drive we arrived to find he was not there.

  10. No HDR, Sergio, If you have photoshop, elements will do I can do a quick tutorial if you like, they only take a few minutes to do.
Keith, it's easy to do, just paint the area with the sponge tool set to saturate and about 20% paint till the colours lift.

  12. Beautiful shots, my favorite are the ones of the pebble/boulders and the coast line. That light in the second to last photo is just breathtaking!
